I know people should take responsibility but does anybody else think most people say what they say and do what they do because of the way they have been conditioned (apologies fot pop psychology) and that everyone should be treated as equal...?

So does that mean if you are a homophobic, racist, sexist a-hole you should be excused as it is not your fault? Nature v nurture. Treat people how they treat you..if they are an a-hole, they are an a-hole.

Most people say what they say and do what they do because of they're drawing on the experiences they've had in the past IMO.

Making a decision to say or do something and you can only go on what you know.

Being conditioned into something suggests there's someone else there deliberately manipulating how you'll react, which might go for some situations I suppose, but not the majority.

Is there anything in particular making you think this now Fizzy?

Birdsgottafly · 05/05/2012 00:57

Yes they do, but everyone can change and should if what they think/do is damaging to others, especially loved one's (DV).

That doesn't mean that those around them should ignore their behaviour, that doesn't do the person any favours, because then there is no reason that they should address their issues.
