what difference would it make with sarnies? I never bother one way or the other. he made you sarnies, don't nit pick, they are still ok to eat I presume?

CrispyCod · 03/05/2012 13:40

YABU

I don't know what difference that makes at all to sandwiches. As long as their airtight they're fine.

During cooking is the only time shiny/dull tinfoil matters.

You could always leave the bastard Grin

CrispyCod · 03/05/2012 13:41

*they're

Iheartpasties · 03/05/2012 13:44

shiny side and wot not doesnt even matter when cooking

whackamole · 03/05/2012 14:06

Has there been a sense of humour fail on this thread?!

Leave the bastard Grin tis the right thing to do!

UnChartered · 03/05/2012 14:08

what a bastard

while we're at it, DH left my coffee on the bedside table with the handle POINTING THE WRONG WAY the other morning!

i had to go all the way downstairs to get my phone to text him at work to remind him of this major faux pas

ripsishere · 03/05/2012 14:31

Make a special hat out of it if you've got enough.
I had to remind my DD that when she clears our garden of nettles she should eat them. It just isn't good enough that she thinks the green bin is the place for them. Kids

IAmBooyhoo · 03/05/2012 14:32

YANBU

dont email, you have to give a verbal warning first of all Grin

betterwhenthesunshines · 03/05/2012 14:34

Useless - who trains them these days?! DS and I searched the house the other day for a certificate of his, and we couldn't find it because my DH had put it away in the fecking certificate file. Honestly, what a pillock - how am I supposed to find anything if he puts it all away where I can't see it.

loveulotslikejellytots · 03/05/2012 14:47

Sorry, I might be being a bit naive here but does it make a difference when cooking with foil which side is facing where? I just put it on the tray and away I go! I never knew it mattered! Smile

CrispyCod · 03/05/2012 15:18

loveualots Well, if shiny side is on the outside it deflects the heat so and if the dull side is on the outside in absorbs more heat supposedly making the food cook quicker. I can't say I've actually noticed much of a difference though.

PandaWatch · 03/05/2012 15:45

This thread has reminded me that I need to buy tinfoil so, on that basis alone, YANBU.

Howver, given that you wouldn't have posted this if you're DH hadn't made this error, I have to be fair and say your DH is NBU either.

Confused
PandaWatch · 03/05/2012 15:46

your*, obviously!

BeadingMarvelous · 03/05/2012 16:46

Thank you for the replies.

It just looks so much prettier with the shiny side out! Grin

I'm going to go home now and explain to him the error of his ways.

op fail tbh

IAmBooyhoo · 03/05/2012 17:10

i lay down a challenge for mini. see if you can not be contrary in every single thread you post for 1 day. can you do it? i'm not convinced. who wants to run a book on it?

Frontpaw · 03/05/2012 17:12

You dont get the type that has little pictures on it? Waitrose sells it.

CokeFan · 03/05/2012 18:02

I believe there's only a shiny side and dull side because they put it through the rollers 2 sheets together. The shiny side is the one next to the rollers.

Makes no difference in cooking or storing.

However, the shiny side is prettier. Therefore YANBU to complain.

FateLovesTheFearless · 03/05/2012 18:05

I would demand relate counselling. If he doesn't care enough to wrap your sandwiches properly, you are clearly on the verge of a relationship breakdown. It's a slippery slope...Grin

OutInAllWeathers · 03/05/2012 18:05

Shiny side out always! YANBU op

Mini - sense of humour fail tbh
