Why do retailers seem to think we will only want to buy t-shirts and dresses as of April? Yesterday I was in town looking for a jumper for myself and a cardi for DD and really struggled to find them both. In the end I managed to get them in the clearance racks i.e. last winter's stock. But the choice was inevitably very poor.

It makes me cross. Am I really expected to go out without a jumper in this weather? Can someone please tell the retailers WE LIVE IN THE UK AND THE WEATHER IS PANTS.

Yanbu, I had trouble getting a raincoat for dd2 in April. Have the shops never heard of April showers? They seem to think we all live in summer clothes from the beginning of March.

YANBU. Most of us are not currently on a beach holiday, it's cold and raining! We need real shopping, not "wishful thinking" shopping.

I was having a browse for coats for DS and was a bit surprised to only find ones of the thin anorak type

I tried buying a swimming costume at the start of the summer holiday last year only to be confronted with empty rails that were getting ready for autumn stock. I had to buy the only swimsuit left in town in my size because apparently not wanting to buy one in March because I was on a diet and hoped to be a different size by July is completely outrageous.
