My DH atolw my keyboard

I am in the my 2nd year of a Foundation degree course. I;ve jsut ben accepted ontp the 3rd year of an honours degree in History and Heritage.

DHY just upgreaded our entire netowrked Pc sytem. He ruhns his own IT buseinss from home, so I'm accustomed to him altewring stuff.

He switcdhed my keyboard around last week. Apparently its a new USB keyboard so I just have to suck it up and get on with ikt. It's black - and I can't see it properly. My old keyboard won't work anymoire.

DH says I am an ungrateful bitch, bujt I have 6 pieces of wok to submit over thge nesxt 4 weeks. I can't type on this cukcing piece of crap,

if my DH called me a "bitch" the keboard would be the least of my complaints

SAeriously, No Seriously, he is cfompletely dsylexic. ~IQ size of a small planet, and ~IT genius,but he don;t read.

i have 3 2,000 word e3ssays to turn ihn by the start of nest week.;

this is not funny. I areally can't believe my hardware don;t work no more. How the hell have I let him mess up my work like this>

I can probably type v.v. slowly, but I have shedloads of work to do. It is taking me 3 times longer than normal to type. I;m like 823 yearold DM!!!

Shit. 83 year old DM. Am not Qui8te that old.

I;ve been in serious denial about this problem for the last 2 weeks. Am accuromsed to being a v. fast typist (35 years esperience)m and now find that nothing works properly.

and tell your H if he calls you a bitch again, he's history, big IQ or no big IQ

Short term solution - throw yourself on the mercy of your local library and do all your typing there...

Long term solution - Forcefeed DH the new keyboard then make him get a better one.

If it is a new usb keyboard then any new usb keyboard should just plug in and work I would have thought (although I am not an it whizz so can't guarantee it 100%)

However, why don't you nip down to your local maplin's/pc world/etc and see if they have any keyboards that are usb and that you think you could type with - and then get it. make your dh pay for it. he can have the other one back to stick into some other system - it folk always seem to have spare keyboards knocking around...

i have a microsoft one that is ok that cost about £20 so not ideal but not like spending £100 as some of them are. The people in the shop should be able to tell you if it is compatible with your system.

dh had a work one that was a complete nightmare (he works sfrom home) - supposedly ergonomic one that was completely unergonomic and horrible - ironic as we are both ergonomists by training that he struggled with for years. I can type reasonably quickly but slowed down significantly on it. he finally got fed up and bought a new one for himself - and his typing has improved massively - if he'd bought it sooner he would have saved himself so much time spent typing slowly, plus avoided the cramps it gave him.

So if you have a problem with it - knock it on the head sooner rather than later and just whizz out and get one - you'll more than make it up in time (and frustration) by having a keyboard you can use!
