To want to strangle my SIL

New to this, so here goes. My dd is married with five children. Her husband has admitted to at least one affair. She says she loves him and wants to make a go of things with him. I totally respect this although I dont agree. It's just he has made her so dependent on him. He has a great life, she's runs around after him and the kids. She's a bright, intelligent woman and he is such a pig. Obviously I keep my opinions to myself, but I really want to strangle him for making such a mug of my dd.

Oh, I was just about to ask what it had to do with your sister in law Blush

YANBU, but at the same time...she's a bright intelligent woman who appears to be putting up with this so what can you do? Sad

Trouble is a few years ago she had a bit of a breakdown and he did help her through it. Now she thinks she can't do without him. In all honesty she can run that house and the kids with one arm tied behind her back.

Five children take a lot of running round after, it has been her choice to have them, as she has chosen her husband.

All you can do is help/support her in making a change, if she wants to. That could be in any way, educationally or personally.

Now she thinks she can't do without him

Unless she is saying that she wants to, you have to butt out.

It's very unfair to lumo the house and the children together, they are people in their own right, that need two parents.

There have been times when i would have prefered my gaughter tonot be with her partner, but they always work through their problems, so i have to accept her choice.
