to have made DH's line manager cry?

She is leaving at the end of May. She has been phenomenally good for DH, and the only reason her contract is not being renewed is that she is not a yes-woman (US military employment law applies, lots of nepotism).

So I have sneakily found out whether she has pierced ears and what her favourite colours/styles are and made her a pair of amethyst/Venetian glass earrings in an origami box made by the DDs. I have written her a card with a personal message telling her how much I appreciate everything she has done to make DH's stressful work situation over the last 3 years so much easier.

Dh says she got all teary...

That sounds lovely! I would really like to see the earrings, pointy as I am a bit of a crafter and always after inspiration. :)

I just made some cards for my college lecturers from all us leavers. Not sure anyone got teary over it, but then again, only one of them is around this week to open theirs.

Aw, that's lovely.

I did the reserve last week. I am a line manager and I made one of my staff cry! Her mum is desparately ill and she's been off looking after her, in her last days.

I made some special pepper dip that I know she likes, so I made a bit extra and sent it home to her, via another colleague. She cried down the phone to me when she got it! SadGrin

That's really nice - I bet she really appreciated it. Smile

Geoff sorry - I didn't take a photograph and they are one-offs - I had some Ca'd'oro lilac hearts about 15 mm and some faceted amethyst beads with some small pearl spacers - the whole was about 7/8 in long, quite neutral in colour, would go with lots of things, on a silver sleeper.

Murano glass isn't cheap, but it's soooo worth it.

That's lovely Smile

I think we don't tend to do enough to show people they have touched our lives for the better, so when someone does it really means a lot.
