AIBU? Making my DD come in from playing outside?

She's been in and out every five minutes since going out to play after school, and I've made her come in, it's more about her having the front door wide open and letting all the heat out (brrr!). She's upstairs in a sulk now, but I did tell her if she came in one more time she was in for the night.

P.S. I don't mean coming in for the toilet, juice etc, just constantly in and out for no apparent reason!

nothing constructive to say just a little jealous you live somewhere where your DD can go in and out the front to play as she likes without you.

We leave ours on the latch but then again it does shut pretty tightly and doesn't let much heat out.

YANBU though, if there's no good reason it's bloody annoying....especially if you're cooking or something.

Gate from reading MN, I've learnt that almost every poster lives on a 'main road' Grin

It's a new council estate, a cul de sac with hardly any cars, bliss for the kids out playing. Very very lucky to have got a move here, did our time in top floor grotty flat lol.

Just wish she would make her mind up, in or out??

YANBU, I get this with mine, I don't mind the "heat" thing generally (though this is sometimes an issue) but sometimes I just want them "in" properly, so I can go have a shower, or dye my hair (often), or do something like that, because the threat of someone else sticking their head through the door to say "hello" and end up staying for dinner, or other kids, or all that malarky trebles...which is fine sometimes, other times not...

Lol Tatty and Euphemia, it's the same with me, not just the heat it's when they drag kids in the house, the slamming of the door when she remembers to shut it, the ding dong at the door when she's just walked in......grrr

definately nbu. We have recently started letting Dd play out on the street, and if it's not coming in and out, it's slamming the door on her way.

ChaoticismyLife · 01/05/2012 17:37

YANBU I used to find this annoying too.

xxmush1983xx · 01/05/2012 17:43

frasersmummy yes, an ongoing commentary of what is going on - and you and your dh sound just like me and dp haha

Definitely NBU!! Drives me insane too - thought it was me being unreasonable so I'm glad to see others feel the same (and if I remember rightly, my own mother used to go crazy about it too!) Smile
