squeakytoy · 29/04/2012 20:31

Mrsrobertduvall · 29/04/2012 20:31

My dad's idea of a treat for us in the sixties was OXo made with milk [vom]

PorkyandBess · 29/04/2012 20:31

I have never heard of such a thing!

Is it not very salty? Can you not have soup, are times that austere?

SherlockGnomes · 29/04/2012 20:32

oo no I do this, well - buillion (sp) stock anyway. Tisn't bad for you either v low in pretty much everything. nomnomnom

NoWayNoHow · 29/04/2012 20:32

Personally, I think that most cup-a-soups of the veggie/chicken variety taste exactly how stock smells, so you don't sound that strange to me!

Oh, and my singing teacher used to advocate Marmite tea - I'm still a bit of a fan now on cold days Blush

muffinflop · 29/04/2012 20:32

YABU unless you dip buttered bread in to it too Grin

QueenSconetta · 29/04/2012 20:33

Porky I could have had soup, in fact there is a pan of homemade leek and potato soup on the cooker, but I just wanted a stock cube...

oh that is a blast from the past, I remember as a kid we'd have a beef OXO cube in boiling water coming in from a cold wintery walk.. ah it was lovely :)

ReindeerBollocks · 29/04/2012 21:00

I drink oxo too, with a celery stick.

DH thinks I'm a bit freaky also he secretly loves that side of me too

UpperFuckingCrusty · 29/04/2012 21:01

Marigold stock granules are really yummy as a drink.

WandaDoff · 29/04/2012 21:09

Mum used to give us a cups of oxo when we came in from school on cold days.

Yum Smile

badgerbaubles · 29/04/2012 21:14

Ooh yes I love a nice cup of oxo. Put a half teaspoon of marmite in for an additional salty blast. Yum.

GreenEyesAndHam · 29/04/2012 21:51

I drink Swiss Bouillon and Oxo (agree it's nicer than Bovril)

It's delicious. I like to lick the gungy paste bit off the stirring spoon as well Blush

EdlessAllenPoe · 29/04/2012 21:52

i particularly like veg oxo. yummy. only think o could drink at one stage of morning sickness...

StillSquiffy · 29/04/2012 21:53

Nothing wrong with this (not that I drink the stuff myself)

However, I can certainly raise the standards:- my late gran used to drink bovril made with hot milk.

eeeww.

Pixel · 29/04/2012 21:58

We always drank Oxo when I was young, and if we were ill we had it in a bowl with bread broken up in it and ate it with a spoon. I loved it, can't think why/when I stopped drinking it (funnily enough I never took to Bovril).

Am I right in thinking it is zero calories?
