Am looking forward to watching bits and bobs, opening closing ceremonies etc etc, but I cannot stand all this associated Official stuff as it is everywhere, it huge piles in every size and shape on anything and everything in every shop you go.

It really taints the event itself, P&G are doing their usual shamless blanket brands slog with stuff and as for those Mascotothon (?) McDonalds shite characters, they really do insult is if they think some bog eyed ugly toy needs to get kids moving. And I was tried to be hard sold a Links/Next Official bracelet for £20 and it was just coloured rope bits in Next yesdturday and was told it was a keepsake. Really? No of course not.

The claustrophobic overkill is taining peoples love of the games.

The mascots are official Olympic mascots. What McDs seem to be doing is encouraging kids to be active with the pedometer toy.

I'm more Hmm about jubilee merchandising tbh.

I realised in sainsburys today that soon it is going to be impossible to tell the difference between the items for sale as all the packaging seems to be going union jack.

Apparently, sugarcrafters are up in arms about not being able to reproduce the Olympic rings on their cakes. Have been tasked with producing a cake for our Jubilee/Olympics street party and am looking forward to breaching copyright with my cake design.
