Sat here MNing, no one else at home, dogs outside, and DD1s guitar has just twanged upstairs, twice. Spooky.

The lock on my cellar door unlocked and locked last week - I heard it from the next room - no one home... couldn't be arsed to look either.

Aribura · 27/04/2012 16:43

RIP Chilenachica, you will be missed.

Dfg15 · 27/04/2012 16:45

Every night when I go to bed, (and I don't go to bed at the same time every night) my wicker washing basket creaks. Its the same creak every time and its usually about 5 minutes after I get into bed. Weird

StateofConfusion · 27/04/2012 16:45

Haha Aribura Grin

redrubyshoes · 27/04/2012 16:47

My guitar used to 'play' every night on it's own. It turned out there was a spider living inside it and it came out every evening at about 10pm and walked across the strings.

Big bugger it was. Grin

My Door bell goes off most nights between 2130 and 2300
I think it gets board
Very often it does not go off when pressed

Chilenachica · 27/04/2012 16:47

We had a small electric fan heater. There was a loud noise - like someone banged it with something metal - and I went to investigate.

It was the largest fecking spider you ever saw banging the plug against the side of the heater. I almost died. Then I squished it against the wall with a ring binder as it stupidly tried to flee behind my desk. God they were huge, the spiders in that place. You could see their knees.

Chilenachica · 27/04/2012 16:51

You're probably right about the escaped murderer

OP posts:
redrubyshoes · 27/04/2012 16:53

It could be the ghost of Jimi Hendrix trying to contact you.

Mrsmuppethead · 27/04/2012 16:59

We had a 'make a sound' puzzle that would growl (the lion sound) whenever it encountered a vibration in the floorboards, for instance if DH popped to the loo across the dark landing in the middle of the night. The mysterious phone calls and heavy breathing were my 90 year old mother in law. The eerie children singing (slowed down horror film style nursery rhyme by dead victorian child) was again a childs toy with dieing batteries..the knocking at the window was actually the ghost of my father in law..how we laughed!!!

Chilenachica · 27/04/2012 17:00

Wasn't a Hendrix kinda twang tho, unless his ghost is having an off day...

Am giggling like a maniac and the kids think I'm laughing at Justin and Robert.

MeKathryn · 27/04/2012 17:22

Ooh wouldn't it be great if Hendrix was haunting you!

QueenofMacaroniCheese · 27/04/2012 17:26

CinnyCall My kids when they were tiny had a vetch electronic activity toy thing that used to switch itself on and play in the middle of the night - it was like living in a Stephen King novel.

Do you mean the one with the telephone handset? Our's did that in the middle of night - I nearly vomited in fear.

Chilenachica · 27/04/2012 17:31

Brings naming dropping to a new height, "there I was just relaxing with MN and Jimie Hendrix's ghost took up DD's guitar and did a full performance, right here in my lounge"

crowface · 27/04/2012 17:31

We've got a Fisher Price talking puppy thing that goes off randomly saying things like, 'you're wonderful', why thank you, 'you're my friend', ok, well, I'm slow to bond.... 'I love you' right, this is a bit much now, 'peekaboo, I see you!' get away from me you freak....

It took us ages to work out that the cacophony of animal sounds coming from DD's play room every evening were due to her puzzle, which had sensors when pieces were put in. Light-activated sensors - so when it got dark outside, off they mooed, chirped, quacked and oinked.

Not a puzzle-loving poltergeist then.

maddening · 27/04/2012 21:19

we could have a virtual mn seance!

Chilenachica · 27/04/2012 21:24

Yeah, let's-I'm bringing Jimmies' ghost-obviously as he's already here, who will you bring?

OP posts:
redrubyshoes · 30/04/2012 09:10

Can I bring Marilyn Monroe please.

Dawndonna · 30/04/2012 09:16

If we're having Jimmy, I really think that Kurt needs to pop in, too.

redrubyshoes · 30/04/2012 09:38

and Elvis and John Lennon.
