John Lewis ipad ordering

Ok,it's my bday in a few weeks & dh has said i can have an iPad if i want,had a look round & found JL to offer the best deal as they come with a free 2 yr guarantee.
Rung round all our local stores,none in stock of the one i want,been checking online for a few days & this morning they had 2 in stock,placed 1 in my basket & went through the payment page etc,then it comes up with order placed & you will have delivery Friday 27th.
Great i thought,but no,i come home from work & i have still not had an email confirming my order,so i rung them up to be told,oh no,the system must have had a glitch so you havent placed an order at all.
I explained that it came up on the webpage that i could expect delivery Fri & if i hadnt have rung i would have waited in all bloody day.
He went on to say they are expecting a delivery next week but they cant guarantee that everyone who has already placed an order like me will get one as there is no list as such.
I know it's not the end of the world but i am bloody annoyed because i am no wiser,JL customer service was pants today.
I'm sorry for being a right grumpy cow & i know i sound spoilt so i apologise.

That's so unlike J Lewis. Their customer service is usually very good.

Yes,it's oos there too.
JL has the best offer with the full 2 yr guarantee,just rubbish customer service.

John Lewis customer service if you have purchased in store is fine but JL online support is shit.

Many threads on here about this lately, such a shame as their rep is falling every day due to farming out their online customer services.

The chap i spoke to couldnt have cared less,he said there will be a delivery next week & there is no guarantee i will get one then as there is no list as such.
So i said well you must have a list as there must be more people like me who have thought they have ordered one to find out they havent & he said no,so someone who places an order after me could receive one before me.
I am so annoyed.

It's just not good enough.

Keep an eye on your bank account, I recently read a thread where they tried to take the amount twice with no delivery.

Different circumstances though as that was a faulty bed.
