Ive had horrendous trauma in my life.

I want to make big changes and i want to list them. This IS a knee jerk, but having a plan is getting me through.

  1. lose weight. Im fat, about 3.5 stone overweight.
  2. Start running/jogging with good music in my ears....can anyone recomend good music to run/jog to?
  3. Live for today, book holidays/days out/fun things.
  4. Decorate the lounge
  5. rip out the bathroom and have new 6)Get myself to a head Dr, to be councelled and soothed in my head.
  6. Watch less telly, gotta get off thisfecking couch.
  7. Grow bigger balls, say what i think and how i feel, instead of shying way into silence. When i say im tired and mean im sad, i will say im sad, cos i am.
  8. Crack on, chin up, tits out, smile on gob, just get on with stuff.

AIBU, too soon or should i just do it? wwyd?

I'm going to steal #9 and stick it on my fridge.

YABU to try doing them all at once. Too many big dramatic changes end up like New Year Resolutions... lots of fanfare Day 1.... fizzle out after a few weeks. Pick one of the things on your list and make smaller changes that you can manage to keep up with permanently. Once firmly part of your new life, pick another. Work in progress... not 'all or nothing'

This could be my post, OP - I have a similar list so similar that it is uncanny.

Yanbu to try and get some focus in your life.

Small steps though - good luck.

Of course you should go for it Smile as long as you a realistic, and remember that it wont all happen at once!
Check your list for things that you can start right now, and as opportunity presents, tackle the bigger things.
Maybe start with disconnecting the tv, and putting it in the closet. During the time that you might have been watching tv, go for a walk, read a book, try new recipes, choose the new colour scheme for your living room, or get out with friends.
As you take more and more steps towards your 'new you', I hope you feel yourself getting stronger and more confident Smile
