This woman is despicable

We had a theft from our shop yesterday, replayed the cctv and to my horror it was comitted by a woman who passed the goods to her DD; 7 years old because she told staff member. The woman then distracted staff whilst the DD left with the goods who was met by another woman outside and the mother left quickly as her daughter had run out of shop.

Theft is usual in the shop and thankfully only happens occasionally. I don't normally even bother to report but this one I have due to the involvement abuse of the child. There were some very distinctive features about the child and the woman which makes me think it is more likely that they will be found.

That is dreadful, corrupting a child like that. What type of thing did she steal?

scuzy · 21/04/2012 09:23

That's awful, definatly report. Do you have some kind of system where you can warn other local shopkeepers what happened so they know what to look for?

SirSugar · 21/04/2012 09:24

The woman and child approached shop and went straight to goods she wanted which suggests they had been in before

already warned other shops

oh am sure its not the first time. definately involve the police for the child's sake (and your business and others).

iscream · 21/04/2012 09:26

I agree! Wicked woman, corrupting a child. Angry

SirSugar · 21/04/2012 09:26

I normally think we are not paying attention if we lose stuff but this woman calmly chatted to staff whilst passing the goods so she has trained the child

Its normal, lots of drug addicts do this, as do career criminals, because its the child under 10 doing the theft, and cannot be prosecuted for it.

toofattorun · 21/04/2012 09:34

That is disgusting. Report her!

DaveGrohlsgirl · 21/04/2012 09:41

Disgusting, but I am afraid not unusual.
I have worked in childrenswear stores for a number of years and never failed to be amazed at how seemingly "normal" people will use their children to steal items.
From storing stuff under a sleeping baby, to putting clothes on under their original clothes......
