DH just took my netbook off me to look at it. He is computer obsessed, works in IT and will think nothing of spending £200 we may not really have spare making his gaming PC a 1/4 of a millisecond faster...

Anyway he has now announced he is going to put more RAM in my netbook. I have informed him to stop spending Money on unnecessary things.

His gaming pc is one thing but I only use the netbook for MN and typing the occasionalword document. Even then I mainly use
My phone for MN!!! So upgrading the RAM is Really not needed on it! It's fast enough for what v basic usage it gets.

I then get informed it isn't wasting money as its my birthday present! I'd rather have nothing and save the £20 for the baby than upgrade the RAM on MY netbook.

I work in IT too and could do it myself if so inclined (well I would google it lol)

So aibu if he gets this RAM to shove it up his arse?! Birthday present indeed. Pah! He just wants to get is hands on a new project. Grrrr

Shove the ram up his arse and follow it with his gaming computer, he is not 12 years old! Yanbu at all! I do feel for you, he seems a bit thoughtless really.

YANBU to tell him to ram it up his arse, why not add a mouse or two as well?!

Hide the netbook and give him a list of presents you'd actually like. And tell him if he persists with the idea of messing with your computer as a gift, he will end up with it wrapped around his head.

Tell him that for his birthday, you'll throw his gaming computer under a bus for him.
