It's raining intermittently and feeling damp/chilly and I've turned the heating on. So YANBU.

upahill · 19/04/2012 13:56

Thw point of having a fire is to put it on when it's cold.
Two of ours have been on all morning.

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 13:57

I don't have enough oil to turn my heating on else I would have done

I wish i could just turn on my fires too :o

Being cold is rubbish. Of course YANBU. As for eco -types who wish to point out that you should put on a(nother) jumper - jumpers don't keep your nose, toes or hands warm. Life is too short to be unnecessarily cold and uncomfortable and the planet is not worth saving if you're freezing. (Some people I know very well are dead stingy with their heating. They may claim to be warm enough but I'm not and neither am I fat like them...)

hathorkicksass · 19/04/2012 14:04

No I have my heating on.

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 14:05

I already have a jumper and a cardigan on. It has gone very cold hasn't it? or have I turned into a complete wuss?

this house is the coldest house I have ever lived in

Oh, sorry to X post Agincourt. Light your fire for goodness sake.

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 14:08

It's my feet that are the problem, they have gone completely numb.

I would drink whiskeybut I don't have any Wink

Indith · 19/04/2012 14:10

Well my fire has been on since around October so I won't say no!

weemumbelina · 19/04/2012 14:11

Or do some cooking or baking if you have time so you can loiter by the cooker!

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 14:16

I could bake a cake I suppose. I do have some eggs!

OP posts:
weemumbelina · 19/04/2012 14:39

I used to make rice puddings in the oven..... Needs a lot of milk though.

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 15:26

I have lit my fire, baked a cake and my feet have returned to the land of the living!

OP posts:
Debsbear · 19/04/2012 15:31

My heating is on, debated getting into bed but probably not very practical!!

Yankeecandlequeen · 19/04/2012 15:51

oooh I hope you lit it!!! I can't wait to move to my cosy 200 yr old cottage & play with fire...I mean light my stove!

Paiviaso · 19/04/2012 15:52

YANBU, enjoy :)

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 16:15

okay, i am going to blame you weemumbelina for my eating of a warm pice of cake Shock Blush

OP posts:
Callisto · 19/04/2012 17:05

Yankee - did you not know that '200 year old' and 'cosy cottage' is a contradiction? Wink

Callisto · 19/04/2012 17:07

Oh, and i had to have another 'last wood delivery of the winter' today because we have used so much over the last couple of weeks. Bloody stupid weather.

Agincourt · 19/04/2012 17:16

I know callisto. It was a bloody harsh winter last year but I am SURE I wasn't having to light fires early in APRIL

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 19/04/2012 17:19

Get some washing on some clothes horses, then you'll feel completely justified.

Nasty damp weather.

weemumbelina · 19/04/2012 17:32

Hope you enjoyed your cake, Agincourt. Smiley face emoticon. Another confession. I occasionally put a load of washing that tumble dries well on, so I can have the tumble drier warming the kitchen.
