Sounds a bit extreme but maynot be anything to worry about. My SIL gats terrible morning sickness from the word go (both times) and I was like a beached whale pretty quick as well. How many pregnancies have you already had? Are you fit, with strong stomach muscles? Both can affect how big you get and how fast. If you are worried speak to either a doctor r a midwife, I always argue it's better to be safe than sorry and you don't need to be worried right now.

this is my second

I am a bigger person, I was big with no. 1 but was sick 5-6 times a day and didnt show till 7 mnths.

Just because a second pregnancy is different to a first doesn't mean there is anything wrong but as i say if you're worried then get your mind put at rest. I believe it's far better in the long run.

Are you certain of your dates?

Twins in the family?

Older mum (more chance of twins)?

I got really quite large very early with DC 2, everyone said it must be twins. It wasn't.

Hoebag · 18/04/2012 16:19

I know I'm not having twins lol

I've had a scan but not a dating one.

I showed right away...I was being offered a seat on the tube from 9 weeks. I was absolutely gobsmacked - with the first offer, I said they were brave and they said they could just tell from the curve of my belly!

I had/have really good, strong abs. I did martial arts for years where the focus was on having strong stomach muscles to withstand kicks and punches to the gut Hmm

At fourteen weeks, I have a full on bump that is very obviously a bump, but it's low down...the abs immediately underneath by bra line/top of abdomen is still really defined. It's just the bump - it comes in about three inches inwards either side of my hips, and curves up from my pelvic bone. But I can still do a plank!

For weeks I thought it was bloat...maybe it's that? I definitely did bloat up in a way that was like I had immense trapped wind. In that really....swelled up kind of way. Is it like that? My midwife said sometimes the amniotic fluid is produced a lot earlier for some...that would account for it?

I could have written your post (except not quite the 2 stone bit....sorry... It probably isn't far off though!)
Big pot belly and über sickness! It sucks and those who know I MCd in feb are just looking for 'something' all the time so it's really difficult to hide it. No advice I'm afraid but watching with interest!
