I'm not sure this is really am AIBU thread, but I'm so fed up with trying to buy my DD shoes for school or going out. She is 12 years old and is in an adults size 11. I don't want to buy online as I can't get the shoes fitted properly. No-where seems to stock anything in this size, Brantano stop at a 10. She is stuck with wearing trainers (mens) for school, but as half the school do this anyway it's not too much of an issue, but when it comes to going out anywhere nice (eg. we had a wedding last Saturday) it's a total nightmare. If anyone has faced a similar problem and has a solution please let me know - I'm getting desperate now (and I don't even know if her feet have stopped growing yet!!)

wow that is big. dp is a 13 and i find it a pain in d ass to get him shoes/trainers. but you have to see if they fit dont you. any local shoe shop or chain even that you can go in and ask if they would stock any or get some in for you?

Chopstheduck · 18/04/2012 14:53

tallgirls go up to a 12. I'd order online and return what doesn't fit, since at least they have a good range.

She has my sympathy. I'm a size 10, and when I was her age, everywhere stopped at an 8, and it was horrendous.

Have you tried Evans? I'm a 10, but a 9 fits me perfectly from Evans as they are wider fitting.

BumpingFuglies · 18/04/2012 14:56

Do you have a Long Tall Sally Branch near you? think they do up to size 11. Where do you live?

Debsbear · 18/04/2012 14:58

Love the Tallgirls site - why have I never found this before - thanks! I do still have reservations about buying online as I'm not trained to fit shoes but I might have to overcome that Smile. I'm completely paranoid about buying ill fitting shoes for my kids as I never had any fitted properly when I was growing up and now have problems with my feet (which may/ may not be as a result)

Shoe zone do some 11's too great for cheap ballet flats and things.
I find the long tall Sally ones come up small.

Debsbear · 18/04/2012 15:11

Thank You! Thank You! Will have to have a trip to Bath methinks (might even squeeze in a Spa visit! - you know the whole stressful experience will make it a necessity Grin)

LargeGlassofRed · 18/04/2012 15:21

www.pricelessshoes.co.uk/en/sale/womens-sale/
Lots in their sale :)

redskyatnight · 18/04/2012 15:30

Can't add to the suggestions that others have given but hope you are able to find something. I'm a size 9-10 and spent most of my teenage years in trainers, yearning to be able to find pretty shoes to fit.

Polkadotfanatic · 18/04/2012 15:44

eBay is your friend here or bigshoeboutique, although they might stock too 'adult' shoes (high heels etc) for her.

Been a size 9 since i was 14...was hell

fluffiphlox · 18/04/2012 15:51

Have you tried Crispins Shoes in Chiltern Street? That's London but they may have a website.
I am a size 8 and that was a nightmare as a young teenager, what have you beeen feeding her?

LargeGlassofRed · 18/04/2012 16:04

Ooh if your going to bath this www.after8shoes.co.uk/bath-shop.aspx is a lovely shop.

Chopstheduck · 18/04/2012 20:04

Ooh I do like the look of that priceless shoes for some cheapy pairs! Can anyone tell me what the sizing comes up like, please?
