Can't afford a cleaner or i would get one, both me and DH do the housework together. But it's never ending there is alway something to do.

Agreed.

Have you got DCs? Are they big enough to delegate to?

We've just made a rota and DCs (6 & 13) feature heavily in dish washer unloading, tidying and vacuuming!!!

We are the same with housework! Drives me mad. It's never ending, isn't it?

remote · 16/04/2012 21:48

everlong I made a list of jobs that need doing daily and got DCs to pick which days they would do what.

DS is 6 and it is so sweet to see him thoughtfully studying the chart then crossing his job off once it is done. DD is 13 and not quite so enthusiastic!!!

JustHecate · 16/04/2012 21:51

Yup.

I would swap my firstborn for a self cleaning house

Kayano · 16/04/2012 21:51

I hate the fact you clean something

You use it

And you have to Shock clean it again! So
Unfair Sad

I may take a leaf out of that manky mner and only wash my towels once a month Wink

Yellowtip · 16/04/2012 21:54

I pay all the children a reasonable sum to do jobs which are over and above dishwasher emptying level and it works like a dream.

CamperWidow · 16/04/2012 21:56

I put DD1 (2.7) in the bath with a wipe to clean it while I do the rest. She sorts the clean laundry into peoples' piles. I'd let her hoover (she's desperate too!) but it's a big upright and I'm scared it'd fall on her.

McHappyPants2012 · 16/04/2012 22:02

ds is 5 and will pick up toys and help load the dishwasher, same with DD almost 3.

i can't remember the last time i cleaned the oven Blush and i get all the washing done, then i seem to blink and it right by the washing machine yet again. I feel like i am going around in circles

Oh the washing. It's just constant.

PoppyWearer · 16/04/2012 22:19

We have a cleaner very other week, thank feck, but the laundry overwhelms me. I prided myself at lunchtime having got it all done, ironed and put away, only for 7mo baby DS to puke all over himself 3 times, over me twice, and then his nappy leaked twice, luckily with towels under him not sofa or mattress. So that's another two loads of washing, out of nowhere.

Ug...this is my life atm.
When I get a job again, I am definitely having a cleaner. No question.

alittlebitcountry · 16/04/2012 22:27

Oh I feel your pain OP.
Lately my daydreams keep coming back to having a cleaner, space for a dishwasher and a laundry room.
Sigh.
