To be secretly pleased by this?

Opened a bottle of cava to have a glass while cleaning and dancing around the kitchen...

(classy bird)

When I come to put the stopper in... It's missing! I think it must have been thrown out in the great maternity kitchen cupboard clear out :S

So I obviously must finish the whole thing. DH is on lates so he can feed the baby tonight (he does not know this yet)

I am secretly very very pleased by this turn of events although if DH asks I am actually gutted as I was looking forward to a glass tomorrow ;P

My night of cleaning has turned into cava and family guy night

Seabright · 15/04/2012 22:09

You are living the dream!

oldmum42 · 15/04/2012 22:11

YANBU..... it's bad luck to leave an open bottle!

CalmaLlamaDown · 15/04/2012 22:12

Yabu - why are you cleaning late on sunday night? Next time buy two bottles so you always have a spare stopper..

it's bad luck to leave an open bottle!

Is it? In that case I shall have to go and finish off my half bottle of very nice Sauvignon blanc that I was intending to leave till later in the week.

Kayano · 15/04/2012 22:15

I can never leave a bottle (ahem) but a teaspoon (or any piece of silver cutlery) put in upside down, keeps the fizz. That's for if, and only if, you don't/can't drink it all hiccup

I was about to suggest the teaspoon thing but if i'm honest I would finish the bottle too x

Chilenachica · 15/04/2012 22:23

That's not fair, we have a whole set of the bloody things, which means I have no such excuse. AND my OH is a bloody genius at finding solutions to such problemsAngry

Hebiegebies · 15/04/2012 22:26

Its never the same the next day, new bottle needed.

Friends mum was shocked by how much my friend and her DH drank, so gave them a Vacu Vin. Friend thanked her mum for it and said

"it's great, now when we have finished the first bottle we know we can open a second and use the Vacu vin if it's not all gone."

Don't think that's what her mum had in mind :)

oldmum42 · 15/04/2012 22:37

Wherearemysock...... well, I was always told it was bad luck, usually by people wanting just one more wee glass! Grin
