YANBU and your family member is rude.

Although it is still his birthday and he might still be celebrating and planning to ring you or see you tomorrow, or maybe he has written you a lovely thank you letter and put it in the post........

LineRunner · 15/04/2012 17:55

I send thank you notes. They take a few days to arrive.

UrsulaBuffay · 15/04/2012 17:55

Give them a bloody chance!

Bokkanikkaglory · 15/04/2012 17:56

True - hadn't thought about that - but said family member has "previous" for this sort of thing - so suppose therefor IABU

I'd give him a bit longer before you write him off :)

Bokkanikkaglory · 15/04/2012 18:02

Yes you're right of course

Yes, YABU, this is incredibly premature.

Bokkanikkaglory · 15/04/2012 18:04

Okay okay - I bow down to my unreasonableness and concede I am wrong

My brother is renowned for not saying thank you or even acknowledging a gift when I'm in the same room. I don't give him anything anymore.
I write letters though so I would give it a bit longer...

LineRunner · 17/04/2012 17:32

Any sign?

Debsbear · 17/04/2012 18:19

I'm the world's worst for this. Trying to find a time when all the kids can be available at a time when the giver is also available is a night mare. I always get there in the end though (ties a knot in handkerchief to remember to ring Auntie later when all kids home from trampolining, but then remembered that youngest will be in bed by then - dilemma!!)
