to hoover the decking?

would it wreck my hoover - it's a cheap bagless effort...

thinking it would be soo much easier than brushing up all the autumn/winter leaves

WorraLiberty · 12/04/2012 21:51

I think damp leaves would probably clog it right up

mummmsy · 12/04/2012 21:55

agh worra! not at all what i wanted to hear! good point though...

You could of course wait for them to dry out and set alight to the bastards

DaenerysTargaryen · 12/04/2012 21:59

I hoover my garden (grass and patio) apparently I'm mad Hmm but I don't think i am

mummmsy · 12/04/2012 22:00

i remember as a child watching an elderly neighbour hoover her garden and thinking a) she was batty and b) i'll never do such an old-person thing...

hmm Hmm

My next door neighbour does (in fact our nickname for her is Mrs Hooverdeck), I'd wait till the leaves were dry tho'.

ilooklikegrotbagstoday · 12/04/2012 22:04

I sweep up the leaves then hoover the decking Blush

mummmsy · 12/04/2012 22:05

sweeping and hoovering - that sounds like even more work!

You can hire big garden hoover type things, DH has bought one.

ilooklikegrotbagstoday · 12/04/2012 22:05

Oooh i hope i'm not Mrs Hooverdeck Blush Blush

ilooklikegrotbagstoday · 12/04/2012 22:07

Haha i'll have to namechange!

sevenbubbles · 12/04/2012 22:11

sevenbubbles · 12/04/2012 22:11

Ours

mummmsy · 12/04/2012 22:13

Rindercella · 12/04/2012 22:14

I hoovered my patio the other day. I actually wondered why it'd taken me so long to come up with such a good idea! Grin

mummmsy · 12/04/2012 22:18

christ if i start hoovering outside, does that mean i'll have to hoover inside ?!

OP posts:
JazzAnnNonMouse · 12/04/2012 22:34

Rindercella - you disappoint me! Hoovering outside?! Next the grass will look like it needs a Hoover, then you'll be dusting the trees and polishing the plants Hmm

AwayWithTheWeeFolk · 12/04/2012 22:40

Well....

The people who moved in next to my SIL dug up the back garden and put Astro turf down. Apparently this was so they didn't have to cut the grass. They hoover it and wash it instead Hmm

Rindercella · 12/04/2012 22:41

Noooo Jazz! That way madness lies. Tis true though, once I start, I can't stop... I am very proud of my garden atm as have just had it all spruced up so have been paying it extra special attention.

In my defence though I never, ever hoover inside! It gets done once a week by my lovely cleaner and that is plenty enough Grin

mumnotmachine · 12/04/2012 22:49

Nothing wrong with hoovering decking- its a bugger trying to sweep in the grooves- two minutes with hoover and its done. I regularly do mine, I use an old hoover though only used for the crappy dirty jobs though- not ruining my Hetty!!

mumnotmachine · 12/04/2012 22:52

Yep- fab for moonsand, and normal sand if the kids been playing

I use it mainly for the pebble dash which keeps falling off the house every time it rains, the bits get stuck in the decking gfrooves but the hoover sorts it out no prob

mumnotmachine · 12/04/2012 22:52

Not sure I would hoover grass though, that seem a bit extreme

McHappyPants2012 · 12/04/2012 22:55

sounds a good idea :) perhaps get a henry hoover i have seen trades people hoover up all sorts with them :)

mumnotmachine · 12/04/2012 23:00

Nooooo Henry tooo expensive to get wrecked- a cheap bagless one from the supermarket is fine, Tesco have one for £17 I think I paid

mumnotmachine · 12/04/2012 23:01
