My son is ill. Again. For what seems like the 10,000 day in a row.

It's actually not been too bad this year but it's been over the last few weeks that he's been catching ear after throat after chest infection.

Tomorrow is our last day of holidays (not counting the weekend) and he was scheduled to go to nursery and I was going to get stuff done with my company, i.e. a business plan finished so I can get a damn loan (hopefully) and do some marketing and get some more clients. Instead I am once again going to be at the fucking GP with him for more banana liquid.

Husband is also on holiday but tomorrow he's booked to go see a movie that he's been dying to see that I have no desire to see. He's been fabulous this past week that he's been off with giving me a break with our son. Since I work from home and only a few hours a week I do 99% of the childcare, which I love, but it was nice to get a break.

So now, on my last day, instead of the whole house to myself and lots of time to work I am going to have a snotty, coughy 2.10 year old lying on me all day.

So I'm having a tantrum...okay?

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Thank you.

Oh. Flowers and Brew. Hell have Wine since it's after 8.

I feel your pain. When mine were pre-schoolers I had a 9-month period where I couldn't go more than three weeks at work before needing a day (or more) off due to illness. It was hell and unbelievably frustrating.

It does pass, but until then, lots of sympathy from me and I grant you permission to tantrum as much as you like. Wink

Hope your DS feels better soon.

I feel for you. If I could put DD in an oxygen bubble until she stopped getting EVERY FRIKKING COLD IN THE UNIVERSE, I would.

Have some Wine

ArtVandelay · 12/04/2012 20:11

YANBU but remember its not forever that they are like this (thats my mums eternal advice)

lepetitchoufleur · 12/04/2012 20:12

argh likewise! Tantrum away. I may scream if I have to wipe just one more snot smear off my DS / shoulder / carpet / cat......

thebody · 12/04/2012 20:14

So sorry for u and ds, he's probably run down and do gets next infection, will get better but in meantime I prescribe wine for medicinal purposes. Hugs.

Tee2072 · 12/04/2012 20:18

Thanks everyone.

I've just had a Gu melt in the middle pudding, husband is pouring me a glass of red and I have Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford together on my Telly Box...Things might be looking up!

Even better, son has been asleep for a bit and I hear no coughing on the monitor!

tuts how fucking inconvenient your child is being

shove him in the nursery regardless and go and do your own thing anyway, you know you want to :/

Tee2072 · 12/04/2012 20:49

Thanks for the sympathy, empathy and understanding, Joanna. Now fuck off, there's a dear.

Ah my SD is exactly the same one cold after another and it does wear you down no matter how much you feel bad about it, have a glass of wine and fingers crossed for your son working on sleeping his cold off tomorrow so you can still get some work done

Kenobi · 12/04/2012 20:52

Yes joanna, how dare the OP put her son in nursery and do some work during her holiday so she can get a business loan.

BURN THE WITCH!

It's been such a long winter here, with two DC who have caught every single bug going. I feel your pain!

ChaosTrulyReigns71 · 12/04/2012 20:57

joanna2012.

Was that really necessary?

NeedlesCuties · 12/04/2012 20:57

Tee - I feel your pain! DS has just got over chickenpox and now has some lingering, rattling cough. He's off his food and although he's in good form during the day once the nighttime comes he is an incredible non-sleeping zombie.

I'm a SAHM so don't even have the whiff of work or computer geekery (apart from MN) to keep me busy.

Have a Wine on me, I'll stick to the Brew as I'm 5 months pregnant Wink

He's actually been so much better this past winter than he was the winter before I'm just so exhausted cuz when he's sick, he only wants me (although Daddy is great during the day for the fun stuff!).

But it just feels like I make plans and BAM he gets ill.

Deffo off to GP today. Poor thing is just coughing and coughing and pulling his ear although he says it doesn't hurt when asked.

Maybe I can write my business plan on Monday...
