I'll just leave it here but don't click it, you really don't want to.

HalfPastWine · 11/04/2012 22:58

I could eat creme eggs until I'm sick and then I'd just start again. Grin

AnyFucker · 11/04/2012 22:59

oh fuck

sixlostmonkeys · 11/04/2012 23:01

creme eggs just like many other choc bars have shrunk. They believe we would rather have smaller bars/eggs than pay more (even tho they keep putting the price up anyway)
They denied the shrinkage for a long time (just like I do when I ruin someones favourite jumper) but then when proof came out they admitted their resons for it.

HalfPastWine · 11/04/2012 23:05

I suppose the ants just make it that bit crunchier and tastier.

Isn't red food colouring made from squashed bugs anyway! Grin

juneybean · 11/04/2012 23:06

Nothing wrong with a bit of protein!

NowWeKnow · 11/04/2012 23:11

They're full of pva glue.

ExcitedElectrons · 11/04/2012 23:17

The ants really do not put me off. At all.

Nothing could put me off a creme egg.

redpanda13 · 11/04/2012 23:42

I bite the top off and scoop the insides out with my finger before eating the egg. I have not been able to bite the top off since I got my braces. Not resorted to the depths of my mum's workmate. She has dentures and gets her dog to bite the top off. Boak!
Ants do not put me off at all.
I remember when I was a girl the creme egg easter eggs coming out for the first time. I was so excited I could'nt decide whether to use a spoon on my giant creme egg or just stick my head in and sook like crazy. So gutted to find out it was just hollow. This year DD got one and confessed she was worried it would make her sick. She thought it was a giant creme egg too. I had a 'thats my girl' moment.

topshelfrita · 12/04/2012 00:49

Whatever happened to border eggs? They were filled with gooey chocolate, much less tooth-rottingly sweet than the fondant.

Mspontipine · 12/04/2012 00:58

I read somewhere that when they were filming Ashes to Ashes for BBC 1 they had to order some Curly Wurly wrappers (authentic ones from the early "80s) and when they turned up they saw that Curly Wurlys have shrunk a LOT.

CelstialNavigation · 12/04/2012 01:24

A lot of chocolate bars shrink periodically. I know this because the calorie count suddenly goes down.

carernotasaint · 12/04/2012 02:08

Does anyone remember Terrys Nutcracker. They were like a chocolate thing shaped like a hazlenut with a nut and caramel inside and covered in chocolate natch. I used to eat them on the way to school and in school.

carernotasaint · 12/04/2012 02:17

And Cadburys Puds from the early to mid "90s. Only available in the run up to Chrimbo they were about the same size as a creme egg but shaped like a mini christmas pud and was split into 2 halves like the Terrys Nutcracker was.the Puds were choccy truffley type thing with v.small diced like bits of nut inside.
(i havent had any choc since valentines as im on a diet so im a little bit obsessed)

mathanxiety · 12/04/2012 03:19

I used to love them but this year I gave up choc for Lent and I can't bring myself to touch one now. I have actually lost my taste for chocolate [boohoo]. No good deed goes unpunished I suppose.

101handbags · 12/04/2012 12:43

Waitrose flogging them off too - box of 12 fo £3. And don't get me started on the Hotel Chocolat sale...

thanksamillion · 12/04/2012 14:16

I too wondered if they had shrunk or is it just because I've got bigger...? Grin

LucyGoose · 12/04/2012 16:32

What happened to the Orange Creme eggs? They were out last year with the other varieties and now are gone!

NowWeKnow · 12/04/2012 20:34

carernotasaintI remember Nutcrackers! I don't like claggy creme eggs they taste like a mouthful of glue. But I did like Nutcrackers. I love chocolate and nuts and always have the purple ones in Roses or Quality Street if I get the chanceGrin

Years ago you could get marshmallow and caramel eggs. They were very nice too

HavePatience · 12/04/2012 20:39

Thank you Juney for saving me a lot of calories! I really appreciate it Smile this isn't sarcastic - I don't know how to make it sound not so in this post at the moment... Grin

Atreegrowsinbrooklyn · 12/04/2012 20:41

They are the work of the devil......

tootssweet · 12/04/2012 20:48

notweknow I remember the caramel & marshmallow ones they were gorgeous! Can't remember the name though.

Did anyone else like Terry's Pyramints? I thought they were lush too - dark chic pyramid filled with mint fondant yummy!
