in thinking certain AIBU titles could be better?

Namely ones like these:

"...or is she?"
"...about this?"
"...to think this?"

Or God forbid one I saw today, literally entitled "AIBU?"

Let's save all of us time and trouble by writing at least a hint of what the thread is about: attracting people who have advice and saving those who don't the trouble of clicking. Even a short and sweet "re: MIL behaviour?" is better than the dreaded "or is she?" Doesn't majorly piss me off or anything, but just a thought.

AIBU? (Or is she? Grin)

YANBU. I don't know why people do it but more importantly I don't know why I open those threads!

CrystalMaize · 10/04/2012 22:27

Don't be so grumpy Grin

WorraLiberty · 10/04/2012 22:28

YANBU!

I keep re-opening the shit thread by mistake cos the title make me forget what they're about.

LineRunner · 10/04/2012 22:31

yeah

BertieBotts · 10/04/2012 22:33

I don't like the ones which start with "That", because they are usually along the lines of

"...that black isn't a colour?"
"...that DH should put the bins out!"

If you put that together, it wouldn't make sense!

Am I being unreasonable that black isn't a colour? ISN'T A REAL SENTENCE!
Am I being unreasonable that DH should put the bins out! ALSO MAKES NO GRAMMATICAL SENSE!

Please, just two little extra words. "To think that". Please? Wine

BertieBotts · 10/04/2012 22:35

Okay, there are no "that" titles currently on the first page Blush but they come up all the time, I promise! (And now you won't be able to un-notice them and they will annoy you too Grin)

chipsandmushypeas · 10/04/2012 22:36

Yanbu Grin

Just replied on one where the title had nothing to do with the story.

Aribura · 10/04/2012 22:36

Yabu. people should write what they want. All these secret rules suck.

Aribura · 10/04/2012 22:39

Fair enough. Feel free to start a thread entitled "AIBU" and continuining within "in thinking Aribura is a picky bitch" because I will never click on it to read it. Grin

Gutted.

LineRunner · 10/04/2012 22:41

I secretly agree.

AgentZigzag · 10/04/2012 22:41

I don't think it makes any difference at all what the title is. There was one recently where the OP'd accidently put her MN nickname as the title and it ran to a couple of hundred posts I think.

Agree with pictish, people can write what they want.

AutumnSummers · 10/04/2012 22:41

How people word the thread doesn't register as something for me to put too much thought into really.

I rather more hate threads in AIBU that obviously aren't AIBU questions. I know that people do it to get more traffic but, for me, it kinda disrupts the flow of the whole section.

WorraLiberty · 10/04/2012 22:42

I think about 15 or 20 of us should start threads with AIBU as the title

That'll cause a bit of confusion Grin

AutumnSummers · 10/04/2012 22:42

*how people word the thread title

LineRunner · 10/04/2012 22:46

Worra you would gets loads, I would get my own sad OP. Grin

WorraLiberty · 10/04/2012 22:47

To be fair it's not difficult to confuse me LR Grin

AgentZigzag · 10/04/2012 22:48

Watch me getting my arse roasted Grin

LineRunner · 10/04/2012 23:15

Ooooh.

Aribura · 11/04/2012 00:27

Don't think I haven't noticed. shakes fist
