Theme Park Fast Track Tickets!!!!!!

So I spent an utter fortunte getting into Chessington (although other theme parks are the same) for my family of 5. Well over £100. Only to find the queues were astronomical - even for the crap rides for young children.

We worked out that we would get to go on about 4-6 rides if we queued in the normal queues. Bought Fast Track tickets - so eventually went on over a dozen rides during the day - but this cost us a further £150 (ish) on top of our entrace fee.

Thank god we brought a pic nic. Am I being unreasonable at the cost of these days out?

you paid and extra £150 to basically queue jump?

pingu2209 · 10/04/2012 19:24

Yup. It doesn't sit right with me either. If there were no fast track tickets the queues for the normal entrance would be a lot shorter. Except there are fast track tickets - so I had a choice - wait in line for Over an Hour - or pay and go in within 15 mins. I just hate the whole concept.

£250 for a trip to the fair?

They saw you coming!

curiositykitten · 10/04/2012 21:46

I don't get those who go to a theme park, then complain about the fact other people are there. Unless you've been living in a bubble, it was obviously going to be busy and have queues!

SquidgyBiscuits · 10/04/2012 21:51

I'm a massive fan of fast track. Discovered it in Florida when we got it as a perk of staying in our hotel and it is the best thing ever. If the queues are more than 20minutes ish we buy fast track.

I know people will come along and say its morally wrong, I'm going straight to hell etc but I don't care. Life is too short to spend it in queues.

Shock

I'm sure the DLP fast track tickets are free - we used them and they were fantastic Grin

mumnotmachine · 10/04/2012 22:04

I went to Chessington as well today- the queues were horrendous werent they!
I didnt fast track, I made mine wait in normal lines!

mumnotmachine · 10/04/2012 22:06

Did you see the large (I think) Jewish group there? They seemed to be at the fast track on every ride, there was at least 20 of them in the group, they must have spent an absolute fortune!!!
The group was lovely though- the children were impeccably behaved and very polite and well spoken

Madeyemoodysmum · 10/04/2012 22:09

YANBU. Charging for fast track is outrageous.
Next time. Go in term time!!!! "Oh dear kids got that dreadful vomiting bug"
Job done ;) failing that an inset day, unless yr a teacher of course.

(ps I don't care if I'm flamed for above comment, lifes too short for that crap!)

McHappyPants2012 · 10/04/2012 22:14
