we went in the rain once....it was really dead there! the rain cleared by lunchtime and the sun came out and a lovely day was had by all!!

ihatemycat · 09/04/2012 09:52

As long as you don't get cold while traipsing around you'll be ok... and no queues!

fedupofnamechanging · 09/04/2012 10:50

I have done this (although not intentionally). The shop there sells these big yellow bin bag type ponchos (with hoods), that come down to your ankles. You'd get wet anyway, on the water slides, so why not?

marriedinwhite · 09/04/2012 10:55

Oh yes, sometimes the very best days, shorter queues and rainy day discounts on the way out.

Just dress for it and you'll be fine and might find that the sun shines on the intrepid (or at least the rain stays in the clouds). Have had some of our best days when everyone else has stayed at home.

We did it and it was fine although busier than I thought it would be. We went on a few rides but didn't stay for ages. It did the job so thanks everyone!

There'll be no crowds Grin - as long as you have "suitable shoes" and coats and brollies, go for it. We invested (well they weren't even expensive) in waterproof pop-on jackets and trousers for the DCs that they can carry in their backpacks with a drink, snack, sun hat, and assorted crap - as long as they have what I deem essential and carry it themselves they can pack what they like Grin and just go everywhere regardless of the weather now. We carry an "emergency" box in the car with a full change of underwear and a big jumper each, old comfy shoes or slippers, and a couple of old towels, just in case, and we just ignore the weather.
We're off camping in Northumberland on Wednesday Grin and at Alnwick Castle for their Harry Potter broomstick training on Thursday this week.
Wups, just saw you've been and gone and done it! good for you OP Grin
