To be jealous of DH?

I got sinusitis last week, started on Wednesday and by Friday I felt really poorly. Got ABs from docs, spent 2 days wishing I could go to bed and sleep it all off but TBH, didn't see the point, as DD (3 months old) feeds every hour during the day and I choose not to express so it wouldn't really be very restful having to wake up and feed her every hour.
DH has now got it, went straight to bed when he got home yesterday and came home from work this morning and has been in bed ever since. He commented when he got home that last week when I had it I couldn't go to bed like he was and I had to get on with things (he meant it in a poor you kind of way).
Okay, I know I'm unreasonable to be jealous as I choose not to express but still am - so there!

Well, like you say, it's your choice not to express. Your dh sounds a nice chap who would happily feed the baby if you chose to express. Who knows- he might even prefer feeling he could do that. So yabu to be jealous

im always jealous when people get ill who can just go to bed.

You can be jealous but you did choose not to express so what's to be done?

MrsKittyFane · 04/04/2012 17:58

Okay, I know I'm unreasonable to be jealous as I choose not to express but still am - so there!
So, you are unreasonable because you had help and didn't take it.

fhdl34 · 04/04/2012 18:15

Yep, I'm unreasonable - and lazy for not expressing

If you're not used to expressing then it'd be hard work getting enough for a feed anyway. Especially if you're ill.

If the baby's feeding every hour anyway, when would you even get the chance to express enough to you can get two hours sleep.

MrsKittyFane · 04/04/2012 18:30

It's one of those situations OP. If you are BF you have to BF or express. There is nothing anyone could do when you chose not to express.
You can feel jealous because that job falls to you come rain or shine but letting people know (DH) is different because he can't change things and could make him feel guilty (unfairly).
