In wishing DS's cold & temperature would just fuck off!

DS (18mo) has a cold and a temperature - again.

This is the eighth cold since the new year.

Calpol/profen are being applied for the temperature, but he's lying on me looking icky and I'm making him hotter.

I've only had 4 hours of fitful sleep and DH is on call this week so he can't do nights until Friday.

Odds are, I'll end up with this cold too.

I want it to fuck off to the far side of fuck and then fuck off a bit further.

I'm not BU. Am I?!

Oh Carpe, I am so with you. My DS has had umpteen colds and chest coughs since he started with a childminder late last year. He even had pneumonia about a month ago. I am utterly sick of him getting sick. It makes me angry and frustrated because there is usually not much I can do about it, apart from call NHS24 again.

And the temperatures get me all anxious too... when he was really ill his temp was up at 40 degrees and he was in an ambulance, but I don't want to think he needs measures this drastic every single time he has a temp.

I understand the sleep deprivation and the dread at hearing poor DS's sickly and mournful cry at 2am on the 3rd consecutive morning.

YANBU

I am with you! Ds is suffering and I have been running up and down the stairs like a flipping yo yo! Temp, sick... It's the easter holidays!

God I'm so bored of CBeebies- but don't think my programmes on sky+ are age appropriate!

8 colds? That is so horrible for him and for you. You feel like it is NEVER going to end don't you? Much sympathy to you xx

Yanbu! Can you send my DS's with it. We've had two awful nights, I've already had it still snuffly myself. I want it gone before the weekend as we've got family to see, wedding to go to etc in the next two weeks and I can't see us doing all the travelling with a sicky baby.

YANBU! I'm in the same boat, with a grumpy, snotty, burning hot 17 MO boy fidgeting on my lap while I type. The only time he's perked up in the last 30 hours is when I took him to the GP this morning, when he staged a miraculous recovery for just long enough to make me look like a neurotic time-waster. He wants to be in my arms constantly (including all night) even though it makes him even more hot and uncomfortable. I'm 12 weeks pregnant and bloody exhausted, and I now have to find someone to look after him tomorrow while DH and I go for my 12 week scan as he probably won't be well enough to go to the childminder!

Whew! I feel better for getting that off my chest. My sympathy to you all.
