...to take the easy route just for today?

The virus I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to fight off all winter has reared it's head again over the weekend. I am snotty, aching, my sinuses are sore, I cannot stop coughing and I am wheezy.

In addition to which my 12 month old has decided that 3am is party time and for the last 3 nights he has been awake for 2 HOURS from 3-5am before eventually going back to sleep.

AIBU to take the Cbeebies and 'things on toast' route with my baby and preschooler today while I hide under a quilt and try to get better?

All WINTER? Have you seen a doctor?

FunnysInLaJardin · 02/04/2012 12:17

YANBU. It is the ONLY sensible course of action

WincyEtNightie · 02/04/2012 12:17

Well YABU to even have to ask.

But YANBU for everything else.

Hope you feel better soon (and yes, a trip to the GP can't hurt if you haven't been already)

1 day of slobbing in front of the telly will be fine! They'll think it's brilliant and you'll get some rest... But definitely get it checked out with the doctor.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/04/2012 12:28

Jessie - it hasn't been continuous, but I am ill for a week/ten days, then it goes away for a week or two and then comes back again. There has been loads of it round here. I have seen a doctor, they have seen tons of people with it but they can't do anything.

Thank you. I now feel justified in my laziness! Grin

Seriously? All winter? Any cough lasting 6 weeks or more would be of concern to a Dr - make an appointment with your GP now, and make sure that he/she knows how long you have been coughing. You may actually be ILL.

X post, OP

MNHubbie · 02/04/2012 12:31

YANBU! Clone wars and stuff on toast day here and no illness to blame. We may head out later to the playpark just before it closes (quietest time, score!) but aside from that... we are probably BU but you aren't.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/04/2012 12:34

Sorry I should probably have said that I am asthmatic, so the coughing perhaps doesn't seem that big a deal to me.

MNHubbie mine aren't old enough for StarWars. :(

Oh, you poor thing. cBeebie them all the way!

Didn't just give her children toast, honest

ABatInBunkFive · 02/04/2012 12:38

When my son kept getting colds one after the other the doctor said it was his asthma that was not under control, a new inhalor & a stronger dose of steroid and he has no more lots of colds, that may or may not be relevant but something to think about.

YANBU to have a lazy day. Hope you feel better soon.

TheSkiingGardener · 02/04/2012 12:47

Cbeebies, toast, whatever it takes. As long as days like that are the exception not the rule then there's nothing wrong with it at all

Meglet · 02/04/2012 12:49

yanbu.

DVD's, cbeebies, cbeebies on the laptop, rice cakes, any toys games you had hidden away.

Tanyaaah · 02/04/2012 12:52

That's what I'm doing today, and I'm not ill!
Bloody Easter holidays.
