Rats milk yay or nay?

My friend is pregnant and is determined to follow a new study in America which has suggested that rodent milk is the perfect foodstuff for a new baby. (sorry not very good at links as on iPhone). I personally am aghast that anyone would consider rats to be appropriate wet nurses but my friend is a bit lentil weaverish. She has a small colony of rats living in her futility room and has even named them. What should I do if anything? I'm afraid I maybe a bit judgemental.

Right, this is the last time I am going to say it. April Fool's jokes have to be played BEFORE MIDDAY! Grin

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 14:51

Is it April 1st? I would appreciate opinions on this I have been a bit narrow minded about things like this before. Please see my thread on Vietnamese pot belly pigs as nannys which was another of this friends plans.

My kids did very well on rats milk

TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 14:58

Simpsons did it.

TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 14:59

Oh, and I love futility room. I want one.

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 14:59

Well apparantely that crazy ex wife of Paul macartney is also a big advocate of it. My friend does feed the rats organic rubbish though.

If this wasn't an April Fool, I'd report the woman for animal welfare and child neglect issues. A human newborn can't suckle off rats.

I want some more pet rats. Sad

bobbledunk · 01/04/2012 15:12

Fantastic stuff, mine feeds straight from our pet rats tit, it's organicGrin

TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 15:14

beautiful rats

pumpkinsweetie · 01/04/2012 15:16

April fools lol, u could even make a fruit fool out of the rats milkGrin

TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 15:20

This charity trains rats to detect land mines

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 15:39

Their tails make me feel a bit ick, I hadnt thought of their nipples.

OP posts:
TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 15:46

Their tails are lovely. Their nipples are tiny. Smaller than the nib of a biro.

Not very plausible, really.

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 15:48

I don't think she's suggesting that baby suckles directly from rat. I think she will have an intricate rat expression regime in place. She's started already you would be surprised at the man hours you have to put in to get even a teeny tiny bit of rat milk.

So, what are the rat kittens drinking, while she steals their mothers' milk?

TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 15:52

Oh, and do you have pictures of her hands?

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 15:53

Frankly I find that idea disgusting. If I had to it could only be decanted, pasteurised milk.

Faverolles · 01/04/2012 15:54

she'll need to rig up something like this :o

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 15:54

She's very secretive about her hands actually. I could never ask her for photos of them.

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 15:54

I will pass that on faverolles. Ty.

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 15:56

I think the rat kittens might be going to her company 'rat veal pies inc' but I can't be sure.

OP posts:
TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 15:58

Yes, she would be very secretive about her hands if she existed.

People thought I'd been self-harming after I had to bathe the rats once.

TheBigJessie · 01/04/2012 15:59

She's got lots of schemes running during her maternity leave, then?

GeraldineHoHoHobergine · 01/04/2012 16:02

She not on mat leave yet. She's still hard at work weaving collie fur jumpers. It's a hard industry to break into but lucrative. This pie company is a new thing.
