Late last night and again this morning DH and I were woken up by BANG BANG in the house....the first time it appened it sounded like t was right next to the bed...nothing there...the wardrobes don't make that noise and we tried to replicate it...but it was too dull to be the same noise.

Now we have been woken from a deep sleep by the same noise but only downstairs....we do have 2 Siamese cats....but they couldnt have done it....the kitchen cupboards don't make that noise...only a dull thud....this was REALLY loud. I grabbed the edge of the kitchen cupboards just and pulled them and let go iykwim and again it just made a lttle bump noise...

What tf was it??

Itwas right in the house Euphemia the one last night was in the actual bedroom...this mornings was definitely downstairs...and really too loud for something my skinny cats could achieve.

Did you have your heating on? Could it have been pipes expanding or contracting or air in the pipes?

AwkwardMary · 01/04/2012 07:59

Right...sussed it out! It WAS the bloody cat! He has just strolled into the kitchen and inserted his paw under my pan cupboard and then flicked it...so it swung open and banged shut...he repeated until he got it open and then stuck his head in.

I am now afraid we have mice! There's no food in there that he mght be after.

My cat does that, we don't have mice she just likes cupboards, and sitting on my plates Angry

Put elastic bands on the handles

Thank you SnapesMistress I will try that...the little bugger has just settled in althugh we've had them for 10 months now....it seems he and his brother are only just unleasing the full list of tricks...mine sits on my keyboard whilst I type....he probably sits on my plates when I'm not looking. Glad you've solved it. I was going to unhelpfully suggest a ghost!

FondleWithCare · 01/04/2012 09:22

My cat looks into corners as if he's getting ready to attack, there are no mice though. It always turns out that he's chasing either a fly, a moth, a piece of dust or a small piece of plastic sitting on the floor.

FondleWithCare · 01/04/2012 09:24

Oh yes, strolling across the keyboard or trying to sleep on it while I'm using it are his other favourite things to do.
