AIBU to find it a bit Hmm when facebook 'friends', who live nearby, post stuff like 'having a great time with my friends having a barbeque/drinks etc'. Why would they post it, during the event, except to say 'up yours' to all the local fb friends who aren't there? Given that, maybe it's just that I'm feeling a bit of a no friends norman.

There is always the possibility that there IS no BBQ - it's all just made up. The poster is probably sitting at home, alone, swigging cheap wine in front of the telly. Wearing old pyjamas. And an unravelly cardy with bits of dinner in it.

In fact, it's quite possible that the closest they've got to a BBQ is when they found a long-forgotten lone Iceland "beef" burger when they were defrosting the freezer at 8.30pm, and it triggered a longing for something rather more exotic ...

Or the neighbours got together on MSN and had a cyber BBQ cos the weather's not as warm as it was.

pictish All I can think when I see these threads about irritations from others' updates is, "Well if you're really thier friend, you would know why what they're posting matters to them."

WorraLiberty · 01/04/2012 00:20

Yes but to be fair, not everyone on FB posts things that matter to them.

A lot of them just post the first inane shite that enters their heads because they're bored and fiddling with their phones.

That I suspect is why on a Sunday my news feed is full of photos of people's friggin dinners.

If it's that nice...stop taking photos and just eat it! Grin

Snort! I have a friend who posts pictures of his canteen lunch every single day. To be fair, some of them are quite weird, but EVERY day?

AgentZigzag · 01/04/2012 00:28

'DH defrosted the freezer today. I love you DH kiss kiss hugz

AutumnSummers · 01/04/2012 00:40

worra that is very true. I do know a hell of a lot of people who post obviously meaninless shit. But when it's a night out, or a good day then I tend to give leeway.

AutumnSummers · 01/04/2012 00:42

*zigzag8 defrosting freezers = medal-worthy.
