Ive had it for over two weeks, It just wont shift. First few days, felt really crap, as you do, then started to feel better, now i have Cattarh, a mucous cough but not chesty (even though my chest is hurting a bit) my lymph nodes are like marbles (hard and hurty but not not that inflammed) and i am just soooooo tired.

DP has it too, although he is suffering more with a sore throat than i am.

DP now threatening to go to doctors for ABs i told him not to bother as we are not at deaths door so probably unlikely to need them and they wont work.

Sounds like you DO need Abs though...Catarrh is normally caused by a chest infection. Just go and get some treatment - 2 weeks a long time to wait to get over a cold.

its not on my chest though, its all coming from my nose :(

My fame have been like this since January, just passing it back and forth.
I felt suicidal a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure yours will ease soon though.
Do get antibios for funky nasties though.

Here too since January. I'm going to get some ABs. Felt really ill last week. DH and DC both got it and half the kids in the school !!

im in the throes of it now....it is absolutely pants. i have no idea where all the snot is coming from, should surely be subsiding now....but no, the snot just keeps coming. my nose is peeling. i also have a cold sore.

mine is all in my voice box - i have a barking cough. i sound like a seal. its shit and you have my sympathy, i look so rough that my boss asked me if i felt as bad as i looked on Friday and sent me home.

You could try Covonia for the cough. I swear by it, but couldn't take it during my last bout of illness as am bf-ing. It's a good little cough mediciine.

For the catarrh, lots and lots of steam, and don't sleep laid down. And apparently vicks on the feet before you go to bed works well, but I'm yet to try it

Was just going to start a thread asking if I was the only person to have been pretty much continually bloody ill since bloody January.
Had flu in January. Have had a horrendous cough for 4 weeks. Got ABs from doctor (would have staged a sit in in the surgery otherwise), thought was getting better but now have awful awful cold and cough has come back. Dd has it too now. I am so fed up. Was always the one in the family who 'never got ill'. DH just takes to his bed but I have to bloody soldier on

I've had it for a week. Exhausted and feel more ill than I can remember for years. And I'm with you on the snot. I had a nose blow yesterday that was worthy of a Snot Porn thread . I actually wanted to show it to someone it was that impressive. I didn't. Still, was the only thing that's cheered me recently.

But I can recommend Night Nurse & Olbas Oil. Is also good in the bath.

My children have had V &D, headache, exceptionally high fever now they are left with a terrible flu it?s absolutely wiped them out. Now I have caught it but it?s not as severe as the children.

Yep, 7.5 weeks and counting. Docs twice, no anti biotics as chest clear etc. Still feel like shite though.

i have been blowing my nose (with impressive results) at least 100 times a day for the last month now. there seems to be no end to it.

i don't even feel that ill i'm just full of endless flourescent snot.

I feel even bloody worse today :( I wouldnt mind if the bloody flood snot gates would open but its all just up there in my nose. I was coughing so much this morning i was actually sick. No point in going to doctors, she is hardline no ABs unless you are dying, but quite happy to hand out ADs in leiu of counselling (err, another thread me thinks) To be fair, i know that ABs wont work, its a virus but i just want it to go away now

I've got it too and feel crappy. Have a horrible taste in my mouth and claggy feeling in my chest and have eaten almost nothing since Friday. Can't stomach booze. Am surviving on Ribena and sleep.
