IM SOOOOOOO bored. My life is so boring I could just die (not literally). I've even joined match.com today to spice things up a bit but it's just made me feel even more bored. I used to have a reasonably interesting life but my god I don't know what to do anymore. I'm just bored bored bloody bored! All ideas on how to improve said bored life will be gratefully received. Smile

My friend met her husband on match.com Grin

miniwedge · 25/03/2012 21:41

Yanbu, I am more bored than a deathly bored thing who lives in dullsville.

Am post op, banned from exercise and BORED.

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 21:42

Ah, but was she old, getting fat, and bloody bored! Thanks for your positive words though Gracie, much appreciated. Grin

Mini, I empathise and sympathise. I'm so bored I could eat my own damn feet!

First of all, I find in these circumstances, you need to count your blessings. In the past, when I have been bored, I have realised that it is at the times when I have good health, and everything else is good too.
Could you travel, change jobs, change other things.
I hope somebody else comes along with some good ideas for you!

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 21:44

I've just broken myself off 8 squares of chocolate. I might as well be fat and bored.

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 21:47

amillion, I'm hoping someone will come along and want to bed me Grin (I'm trying not to be too graphic about this). And, of course you're absolutely right, I should be grateful for all I have, including my good health and that of those around me but I'm still so so so so so (I could go on forever) bored. Grin

OP posts:
miniwedge · 25/03/2012 21:56

Bucket, I'm so bored I'll bed you. I promise not to call you afterwards and I deffo won't do passive aggressive posts on Facebook using lyrics from well known but slightly shit ballads to let everyone know about it.

It's the least I can do to stop you eating your feet. No one should have to go through that.

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 21:59

Grin mini that's hilarious. I'm well and truly cheered up but sadly still beyond bored, I'm now considering eating my hands and nipples too now I've finished my chocolate. I'm so pleased someone's came up with at least one solution to my boredom Grin

Seriously though, what can I do to change my life before I lose all my extremities. I can't sell my flat (I'm in negative equity) so I can't move. I've been looking for a new job but there's not much out there and my job is so convenient in many respects. I can't take up a hobbie because I have no money and I'm a single parent. I feel really stuck, I've so got to do something before I throw myself off a bridge (not literally) Grin

bejeezus · 25/03/2012 22:12

invite people round?
read a book/lots of books?
learn a language?

bejeezus · 25/03/2012 22:13

how old is your dc?

miniwedge · 25/03/2012 22:14

Grin what's it gonna beeeeee cos iiiiiii can't pretend nooooo! Dontcha wanna beeeee morrre than fri-e-ends......

Ou. Do a few courses in stuff that interests you. You will get funding. I did it as a single parent and have an engineering degree. Best thing I ever did, met loads of people and boosted confidence as well as job prospects. Xx

bejeezus · 25/03/2012 22:14

Ive started training for a 10K- little dc inpushchair, big one on bike....

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 22:23

Actually I used to have a bookclub at mine which I really enjoyed, I think I'll start that up again. I used to run lots with my friend but she's doing her doctorate and busy writing up her thesis at the moment, so I'm not running. I may start running again on my own. I'm cycling lots (to and from work and love it). Mini = you're mental (are you my friend G?). Courses I cannot cope with, I don't my time studying and I refuse to do any more. Maybe a language though. I might look into that. I need something to look forward to. I'm waiting for a response to my PPI claim, if I get enough money I plan to take my son on holiday. Oooh, that's exciting. I'm not having much luck on match. Unfortunately, most men don't want anyone over the age of 35 and the calibre of those men over the age of 35 is poor, so so poor. I've just managed to depress myself again! Grin

miniwedge · 25/03/2012 22:29

My name is not G. Soz.

Mfl on ou then if you likey languages? It's not about the study, it's about having a new social circle.

I am over 35, men still want you, you just think they don't.

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 22:33

Ahw, thanks mini. I'm sure men do still want me Blush. I'm actually an attractive women but just can't find the right man. Yes, you're right about the language or course. I'm going to think about it. I might go with a male dominated course Grin

OP posts:
Chilenachica · 25/03/2012 22:39

I second the idea of a course, or two. 'specially if you can get some funding.

miniwedge · 25/03/2012 22:43

Love no one canfind the right man Grin

bucketbetty · 25/03/2012 23:03

Mini, I think you're right. I'd be happy with any man right now. Grin

Do you just want to get laid or do you want a companion/boyfriend/soulmate/partner/paininthearse?

Can't you get a dog?

Kiwiinkits · 26/03/2012 02:07

You always need something to challenge you and something to look forward to, my wise Nana used to say....

Why not kill two birds with one stone? You've got time, but you haven't got money, so why not start a wee business? Like buying and selling stuff on EBay? Trading shares?

Kiwiinkits · 26/03/2012 02:09

(I'm pretty damn bored myself. 38.5 weeks pg, first day of maternity leave, DD1 at creche, nothing to do. Can't exercise, too fat).

bucketbetty · 26/03/2012 21:19

Bejeesuz, I want all of the above, can't have a dog because I work full time. Kiwi, at least you'll have a new baby soon. What joy! I wish I was on maternity leave looking forward to a new little life. I have stuff on Ebay at the moment and it's been an absolute pain in the butt. I sent a lovely little bag to a woman and she's sending it back saying I've sewn it back together, it's tatty and has stains on it. I bought it for a wedding, used it once, it was a tame ocassion so no chance of it getting badly worn or stained. I absolutely did not sew a petal back on - the woman is an out and out liar. It causes me unnecessary stress. I won't be selling anything on Ebay again. I do need a hobbie though. I'm not too bothered about making money, although it wouldn't hurt. I was thinking about advertising my typing services. I can touch type and I understand there's money to make in typing up med students thesis etc. I may give that a go. I can do it on my own time and the money's pretty good too. I checked out match again today and by god it's depressing. The standards are not good and I'm not at all inspired. It's early days and at least I'm being pro active. Good luck kiwi. Smile

bejeezus · 26/03/2012 22:16

haha! Thats my experience of selling stuff on ebay too! Id rather give it away, than the hassle of ebay

Buy an enormous vibrator? that would kill some time...
What about speed dating. I think if I ever had an enormous bang to the head and decided Id like to 'meet someone'- that looks like fun. In fact it lookslike fun, even if you dont want to meet someone. ANd you dont have to sit through a dreadful evening with 1 moron...you get to rotate a whole room full of 'em!!

you could spend hours thinking up questions to ask them
