DD age 1 and a bit is obviously not very well....moaning and irritable and just crying a lot more than usual tonight.
DH is away on a month long work trip.I am 3 weeks in.
Tonight my dear dear brother has agreed to baby sit, sleep over and do the morning shift.I have 5 yr DS. They tend to wake up at 6. I am tired and have spent weeks at home every evening and have been looking forward to going out.
I had planned a big night out.
Am I BU?
Please say no?

No you are not. Go out and enjoy yourself while you have the opportunity!

LineRunner · 23/03/2012 19:31

Is your brother still ok to babysit?

ginger19 · 23/03/2012 19:33

He is on his way over and does not know.I forgot to tell him...

I wouldn't leave a sick child, sorry.

BareBums · 23/03/2012 19:35

Won't you just spend the night worrying though?
Is your brother capable if things get tough?

smoggii · 23/03/2012 19:35

YANBU it's your choice but...If it were me (and it's not) I wouldn't go. If it was just your DS and he was a little poorly at 5 then I think your DB could handle it but a poorly 1yr old is going to want her mummy or daddy.

I think I probably wouldn't enjoy my night worrying.

If DD was fine then no issue but you know that she's not

Kayzr · 23/03/2012 19:36

I wouldn't go out if one of mine was feeling ill.

topshelfrita · 23/03/2012 19:38

Little bit of calpol for the toddler and see how it goes? If it settles him down then I would go out.

ginger19 · 23/03/2012 19:39

He is capable of the basics. She LOVES him...But obviously he is not me. He is also capable of calling me if it all really kicks off.

sorry, meant settles HER down. (Newbie) Sounds as if you've got it reasonably well sorted, if you're not too far away and can get back quickly if you get a call.

COCKadoodledooo · 23/03/2012 19:54

YANBU. Not at all. Enjoy your night, sounds like you deserve it!

Mind you, I think in your situation I'd just check in to a hotel and spend the evening pampering myself then get an early night and make the most of the lie in opportunity Grin
