To think that somebody in Nike must know how to use google?

They released a pair of runners to commerate St Patricks Day.

And called them 'Black and Tans'!

Surely somebody in Nike had to google the country for which they were commerating?
They have now reconsidered the name.

They must have known what it was, surely? They chose it in relation to St Patrick's Day. I don't think there's any doubt they knew what it was, which just leaves the question who the hell thought it appropriate to celebrate St Patrick's day with a pair of shoes named after a group that went round terrorising communities.

I just don't get how someone could be that thick. If in doubt,google.
