Waiting for a bus this afternoon for my elderly, disabled mum. When it arrived there were 3 others pull up at the same time. I ran ahead so he'd know people wanted to get on whilst my mum hobbled up as fast as she could. The driver then started shouting at be to get off as he wasn't waiting and to get away from the doors. I apologised and said she's coming, she won't be a second.

When mum got on the bus (30 - 40 seconds after me) I thanked him for being so understanding - I know iwbu for being sarcastic- and my mum genuinely thanked him and apologized for being a ordering old woman :o

About 10 mins later once we had gotten through heavy tragic the driver pulled over, got out the can and stalked down the isle towards us. He then apologized for being rude to me and said that it had been a stressful morning.

Now whilst I don't think iwbu making him wait after pulling up so far from the bus stop, he didn't have to apologize and I was very impressed he did

I love that. I have great admiration for people who can admit they were wrong and apologise. Shows great character imho. Fair play to him.

YANBU, fair play to him. Where we live, all our bus drivers bar one are great. I was astonished to hear people thank them as they got off.

I agree, well done to him.

YANBU, my DH is a bus driver and says people don't realise how stressful a job it is. Rude passengers, terrible drivers and trying to keep to a timetable makes it all very stressful.
