To feel sad

I have 2 small children who both made me beautiful mothers day cards at play group and do not expect oh to buy anything for me, from them. But yesterday I was out all day on a course about an hours drive away. When I came home I noticed a supermarket bunch of flowers just left lying on the table with the bag wrapped around the stems. So I just put them as they were in some water and forgot about them. This morning I asked who the flowers were for as i thought he may have got them for his mum and she forgot to take them, oh replied, oh they were for you. Turns out his mother who doesn't particularly like me picked them up at his request. I am sad because A. He got his mother to pick them up, and B. They were dumped on the table all afternoon and he didn't even give them to me. Feeling sad and worthless, this is what they think I deserve. Do you think it's awful to feel a bit sad about it?
