well, not really the drink, would prefer juice or diluted juice for the dc.
but the bottles are just so practical!

YABNU DD loves drinking out of those bottlesand she'll glug a whole bottle down even if it's just water I've put in it.

YANBU - DS used to love the bottles filled with juice. I stopped him though when I read (maybe on here) that re-using bottles can be dangerous as the plastic can start to release nasty chemicals? But yes, the bottles are a good, non-leak design.

Grin I was sitting in a cubicle at GOSH on wednesday with DD, waiting for a bed for her Endoscopy. There was a small girl in recovery next door, and she was a little reluctant to wake up. Her Mum was calling her and telling her to 'wake up, come on sweetie, ive got your favourite froot shoot here, she loves her froot shoots dont you sweetie...' I was smiling to myself and thinking of you lot! Grin

anna That's not true, only when you leave the same liquid in there for months and months at hot temperatures. Water in bottles gets stored in warehouses for weeks, how is the bottle going to know when the liquid gets changed? :)

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDawn · 18/03/2012 11:24

That can happen Anna, but it takes years, if you look at a bottled water, it will have a use by or best before date, that's not for the water, it's for the bottle, and it's a very very conservative estimate.

Yes I remember a chain email warning women who leave water bottles in the car they will get breast cancer, remember reading afterwards it was twaddle. On Fruit Shoots, yes we love them too, the drink and the bottles.

Chubfuddler · 18/03/2012 13:05

They've got a royal warrant.

theodorakis · 18/03/2012 13:06

Wasn't it an urban myth pushed by a singer?

Jumpingovaries1 · 18/03/2012 13:07

Just to make your day - new bottle design coming very soon it will be totally leak proof!

theodorakis · 18/03/2012 13:08

and anyway, you have to smile about a thread about the dangerousness of fruit shoot BOTTLES, the sugar brigade will tell you that nothing could be more harmful and poisonous than the drink itself. (although I bet half of them really mean it may make you...horror of horrors...common!)

annalovesmrbates · 18/03/2012 18:13

It is weird, the smell of them makes me gag, but to DS, they are a real "treat". He especially likes to get them from Wilkinsons. We must be so so common.

we get them about twice a year for outings (much less messy then juice cartons) and then reuse the bottles for a while. dc 5y is not really keen on toddler zippy cups anymore :o
