Should install a remote central locking in my new car?

Can someone tell me from their experience good and bad about remote central locking? As I am not sure whether to install into my new car?

Marvellous... Means you can unlock the door from a sheltered spot and dash to your car through the rain instead of fumbling about with keys getting soaked!!! Thought most cars had it these days.

I would have thought it came as standard now. I wouldn't have it put into an old car no matter how fab it is, my new car has it my old one didn't but it's not working I hope it's just the battery.
