In the last 4 months have had 3 floods.

Flood 1, Dec 2011. Upstairs neighbour filled bath when he was drunk, left taps running. Damage to paintwork, laminate, ceiling tiles, but liveable.

Flood 2, Feb 2012. Main water pipe burst. All carpets ruined, laminate ruined, some household stuff destroyed. Had turbo dryers in, dehumidifiers in, fans in. Have been living with dusty concrete floors for 6 weeks. Was due to get my new carpets in next week.

Flood 3, March 2012. Last night at 9.30pm. Main water burst again (same pipe) live on 9th floor, apartment block. Pipe burst on 10th floor (again). 5 inches of water. Soaked sofas, bed, tables, cupboards. Electricity switched off and water.

Spent yesterday in a hotel. Spending the weekend in a hotel. Have large pools of water in every room of our apartment.
AIBU to say I will not move back into the apartment until all work carried out, ie carpets fitted, apartment dry and mainly water pipe properly fixed this time.

YANBU at all. I feel for you! We had just the one flood a few years ago and it was horrendous getting it sorted. Can't imagine having to do it again!

All photos of my 50th gone (was on a laptop). Flat has a really damp smell to it now. Took hours to get hold of a loss adjuster to say ok to staying in a hotel, then all hotels booked solid (Man Utd playing tomorrow). Finally got a room at Premier travel Inn (receptionist was lovely).

Unfortunately we own. Apartment only 4 years old. There are some very angry people living in Manchester at the moment.

Know its not really an AIBU, but felt the need to rant.
