Minshu · 08/03/2012 22:50

I just asked that of DP. He doesn't know either...

HTH

crazynanna · 08/03/2012 22:51

Did you hear me shout "what the fuck are you doing there?" Grin

cybbo · 08/03/2012 22:52

BECAUSE HE'S A SERIOUS ARTIST

and next week Jessie J is presenting Country File

Shakey1500 · 08/03/2012 22:52

They quite often have a "celeb" there don't they? I quite like him Grin

You never know, he may surprise you...

cybbo · 08/03/2012 22:53

He should stick to singing like a wasp trapped in a jam jar

timetosmile · 08/03/2012 22:53

I also have no idea.
Should be going to be bed but now having to stay up to find out....

cocobongo · 08/03/2012 22:54

but he's got his intellectual glasses on.... Hmm

troisgarcons · 08/03/2012 22:54

So he's not entitled to have an opinon?

Fuck - there are enough misinformed ones wafting round this website on a day to day basis.

painauchoc · 08/03/2012 22:56

He's an intelligent young man in the public eye with a degree in politics and whose opinions are worth listening to as much as the next person? Just a thought. Last week they had the guy in charge of the association of professional footballers. he was relatively coherent as well. I often think they are far more interesting than the politicians who twist every question into another way to snipe at each other.

Goolash · 08/03/2012 23:08

Because of one of the debates?

Whatmeworry · 08/03/2012 23:12

Gay Marriage ishoo

EightiesChick · 08/03/2012 23:13

Gotta say I'd rather listen to him any day than Eric Pickles and his usual round of bile. Though Pickles has just come out Grin in favour of gay marriage which rather surprises me.

MrsDeeBee · 08/03/2012 23:13

He talks a lot more sense than a lot of the politicians do.

I like him.

ImperialBlether · 08/03/2012 23:15

So you'd rather just watch politicians?

I think there should be more than one member of the public on it.

fatherchewylouis · 08/03/2012 23:15

I believe he has a politics degree, and they often have celebs. He seems to fit the bill perfectly

veryconfusedatthemoment · 08/03/2012 23:18

he's been on before and did really well. Sorry I've missed this time round!

GreenEyesAndHam · 08/03/2012 23:18

Holding his own, I'd say

EnjoyResponsibly · 08/03/2012 23:20

He's acquitted himself rather well. The panel is very, very shit tonight, but has been for many weeks now. Not enough "real" politicians on IMO. The Daily Mail woman is making me quite stabby and I'm feeling mellow after several Wine

IMO QT needs to man up, it's becoming v lightweight

nobodyspecial · 08/03/2012 23:37

He's made some comments about Rihanna not being a good role model for women or something....maybe it's something to do with that?

FlossieTeacakeShouldFakeIt · 09/03/2012 00:05

He did seem to be working hard to keep up with it. He was talking sooooo s-l-o-w-l-y.

Engelsmeisje · 09/03/2012 07:47

He studied Politics at Exeter University (in the year above me Grin).

Here here EightiesChick (Pickles is vile).

TroublesomeEx · 09/03/2012 08:04

Well I don't know, no Will Young fan, but before becoming a 'pop star' he studies politics at university, is clearly an intelligent man, and probably speaks a lot more sense than some of the people of QT.

Although, we do normally watch QT and agree there have been some questionable panel guests of late.

Perhaps it's trying to appeal to a wider audience... Hmm.

TroublesomeEx · 09/03/2012 08:04

on not of

balderdashed · 09/03/2012 09:03

Thought it was all about making the programme seem less 'elitist' and therefore more accessible to more of the licence paying public. After all ratings are important to the Beeb! Shock

BigBoobiedBertha · 09/03/2012 09:11

He is much better qualified than some of the people they have had on and if having celebs on does make it less elitist and more palatable to the younger voters who often couldn't care less about politics that can only be a good thing. I hated QT as a younger person when all the panelists just looked like a bunch of boring old men. I might have taken an interest in politics much sooner if the panel had been as varied as it is now.

Plus it is good if they have somebody who doesn't have to tow a party (or a newspapers) line.
