Last year in july i stupidly registered on the your-money.tv website when I was trying to get a loan not realising they had a membership ee, they took 69.95 out of my account. I rang up and they said I'd have to put my complaint in writing to get a refund (which I never got round to) but they cancelled my membership so that was that.

Today I received an email saying my membership is now active and they have took the membership fee Angry AGAIN!! I have not signed up or even visited that website since, I am so angry! I've been skint for weeks finally got paid and now have no money left because of these bastards! Someone from the company is calling me back but I am rubbish confronting people on the phone! Any advice?

Not sure there's anything you can do.

A lot of these things have rolling membership - unless you specifically cancel, as far as they are concerned, you are continuing your membership.

How do you know they cancelled your membership? Do you have proof of that?

I'd contact the CAB if I were you, I've no idea or real advice, sorry Sad

Was it taken by direct debit?

If so you can claim it back under the d/d guarantee, ring your bank and they will do it for you. Tell them that it was cancelled and you did not authorise them to take another payment.

Your bank should credit you in the next few days if not immediately.

Hope that helps

Ring your bank, they will advise you and hopefully can get your money back

Yes ring your bank asap.
Also can you email the company and tell them what you have told us.

Calamityboo · 06/03/2012 16:47

I am sure that rules of dd say you have to be notified 10 days before money is taken from your account. And tut tut you for not following it up last year.

Thank you for the replys, a very unhelpful woman rang me saying if I want a refund I have to write to them Confused it was not a direct debit it was a debit card transaction :( I'm going to write them an email as soon as the DCs are in bed.

Ring your bank. Tell this was an unathorised transaction and you are reporting it as fraud. Ask the bank to cancel the transaction, reverse it and return the funds to you. Then ask them to cancel your card and send a new one. Then write to the loan company telling them they explicitly do not have permission to deduct any further funds from you

Good luck.
