Cat shit thread

Hello,

well I said I'd start one, so here it is.

We've just got a cat. RSPCA gave him to us. He's tagged but refuses to stay with the owners who when contacted, said we're fine if you rehome him and he likes it there because he sure as hell hates it here.

He likes it here.

He is lovely, very beautiful bengal cat, very active, likes to be outdoors.

We bought him all the stuff including a cat litter tray but he won't use it.

He hasn't shit in it once.

Clearly I can't force him but this means he is going out and shitting elsewhere, probably in other people's gardens.

What should I do about this? I know other people hate it. Shoud I walk around my neighbourhood every day with a pooper scooper and some bags cleaning up all the cat shit just in case it's his?

I hope you have my neighbours cat and it has therefore moved away as it shits on my lawn every day. We can't walk on the lawn. I bought one of those sonic things, it works intermittently. However, as much as it makes me mad I know there is nothing the cat's owner can do...they have certainly never offered to pick up the shit.

topknob · 05/03/2012 22:12

My cats don't have a litter tray, they go out and shit wherever the mood takes them ! (as did my previous two) I have told all my neighbours to shoot them with water pistols if they don't want them in their gardens :)

sterilise the buggers

Sorry wrong thread, there's nothing that you can do really.

You carn't teach a cat social responsibility, they own the world and they know it.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 05/03/2012 22:46

But is the cat claiming Working Tax Credits? If so, I hope it doesn't have more than two kittens because I don't pay my taxes so that cats like that can just spend all day long shitting in other people's gardens, licking its privates and breeding, while I'm hard at work.

Synyster · 05/03/2012 22:47

get a goat instead, they are free if you are poor

DamnBamboo · 05/03/2012 22:49

The cat is claiming everything he possibly can and keeps having babies he just can't support.

Not only that, he thinks I should be doing his workfare for him, hence why I thought I should pay his debit to society and walk around cleaning up cat shit all day

Put one in every room, he might just not like where it is, especially if it's in the same room as the food/water. Cats are bastards. Mine is so clean, if it's been used once, that's it, the carpet gets it. Cat logic. Meh.

Kleptronic · 05/03/2012 23:32

Used once, for a wee! I don't leave turds hanging about. Just saying.

my2centsis · 05/03/2012 23:44

FFS your cats shit is a hazard to the community!!

I am fumming over this!!

Kids are going to stand in this!!

Unfortunately I am far too up myself to pick it up myself...

don'tworry everyone someone is on there way to pick it up and spray paint the affected area!! I shall now stand and point at it in disgust.

Moominsarescary · 06/03/2012 00:17

You are enabling him to live his benefit claiming, kitten producing, workfare shirking, shitting on others doorsteps existence for even contemplating picking up after him

Leave the bastard

RuleBritannia · 06/03/2012 09:58

I don't like cats pooing in my garden but, if they do, don't they bury it sort of?

poinsetta · 06/03/2012 22:42

not if it's on the lawn they don't

sleepsforwimps2010 · 06/03/2012 23:17

I once worked in a cattery, and when they had cats in that werent used to a littertray they would put the tray down with an inch of compost on top of the litter.
it always worked! something to do with the smell of the soil apparently......
