To Hide From In Laws Today

At DPs instigation PILs and B & SIL are coming round this afternoon to see DD as was BILs birthday.

They are quite touchy/easily offended, despite the fact we see very little of them (once since Christmas) and kind of have to pussy foot around them.

I am not well with raging laryngitis and sore chest and feel crap and CBA with it all.

AIBU to hide in bed and just let DP and his family get on with it?

YANBU.

Not unreasonable, you can come here if you want.

One of my friends/neighbours has problems with her Mil and sil. She quite often pops over on a very flimsy excuse if she cba with them.

Make it about them.....'I don't want to pass on my germs to you'

Stay where you are!

Yanbu

Thanks all, esp Bike. I will bring the pancakes (little ones with butter, always make me feel better)

YANBU. You are ill! Stay in bed and hope you get better soon. Brew

YANBU. I always hide from my IL's. It's like a little game.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 04/03/2012 11:30

YANBU.

I shall be hiding from mine this afternoon. They have invited themselves over, as usual, and it's report writing weekend. I told Aunty-in-law when she phoned that yes, they could come over, but they were not going to see much of me, as I would be working as planned. I do not have time to spare sitting on the sofa drinking endless cups of tea and complaining about the price of everything these days.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 04/03/2012 11:34

I was going to say YANBU before reading the OP, I still think YANBU.
When my dh's family come round it is always me that is hosting, offering and making drinks/food etc.
Let you dp do the work :)

My awful mil was over once, so i drove to two streets away and read the paper in the car. It was idyllic and i would do it again in a flash.

Def not being unreasonable.
