Twinings c'mon. I stood there for five minutes carefully tearing my teabags and couldn't even do it in bulk due to fear of ripping the things. You charge the money you do the bloody tearing.

Twinings is not premium tea. There's your answer.

HSMM · 29/02/2012 22:05

I grab one side in each hand and pull and they separate perfectly.

TinyPants · 29/02/2012 22:07

Is this one of those first world problems? Grin

No YANBU. Partial to a bit of Twinings myself, premium or not.

thefurryone · 29/02/2012 22:13

Why do you need to rip them in bulk? Do you not just do it as you go?

diminishedresponsibility · 29/02/2012 22:14

if twinings isn't/aren't ?? premium, is it charging enough to split the teabags? Asda do (ok I tried alright, and if you haven't yet, don't, they're terrible, thought they might be a great bargain discovery).

I pop them in my tea caddy separately. The first handful goes on the bottom with the other handful on top and they fit.perfectly.

diminishedresponsibility · 29/02/2012 22:19

furry, I am one of those ocd types that just can't look at a vessel knowing that there's a combined teabag duo in there.

I split mine but it's easy to do in one go.

whydontwehaveasharpknife · 29/02/2012 22:39

Maybe you need to switch to Tea Pigs Wink

JarethTheGoblinKing · 29/02/2012 22:40

Buy round ones

Warlock · 29/02/2012 22:44

I get tremendous satisfaction from managing a full pack separation in one smooth motion. Do I need to get out more ?

VeronicaSpeedwell · 29/02/2012 22:44

It doesn't bother me, but I have just read this thread to DH who agrees with you totally and is now all het up about it.

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern · 29/02/2012 22:45

I had completely forgotten tea bags came joined. They were all like that when I was a child. I loved ripping them apart send them to me. Grin
I have round ones from lidl (not bad actually) I usually have pyramid shaped ones. I'll need to get some twinings now so I can rip.

JustRedbin · 29/02/2012 22:46

I don't mind separating the bags so much, but it's really tedious cutting the tops off and emptying them out into the pot.

startail · 29/02/2012 23:20

Twinnings perforating machine's been on holiday. The last box was awful, the new one is much better so hopefully it has returned refreshed.

Pornyissue · 01/03/2012 00:15

Really posh tea doesn't come in bags.

Yabu.

giraffesCantDonateBoneMarrow · 01/03/2012 00:18

another well known brand are not pre split. Can;t remember which ones now.

diminishedresponsibility · 02/03/2012 21:43

i blame fairtrade, they just don't 'do' teabag separation any more.
