Not so much of an AIBU, not sure where else to post. Going to a family party next week, no children going, we have asked DS's nursery teacher to babysit him (4yo)& DS (10mo) while we are at the party.Probaby from 7pm until 12.30ish. Have asked her how much we are to pay her and she is being quite blase, oh dont worry we can sort that out later. Not to sure what the going rate is?? WWYD?

We have only paid teenage neighbours with no qualifications £5 per hour, not sure if you should pay nursery nurse more-what's minimum wage?
Before I get flamed, my kids have never been anything but asleep for babysitters and I leave out food and drive them home!

oohbabybaby · 24/02/2012 17:21

That was my thinking too, because she is qualified not sure if I should be paying more?

The going rate round here is £8 - £10 per hour

South east

I'd say around £5 an hour too. there's another thread on here today asking about babysitters - conensus on there was about £5 an hour if that helps.

Yes I pay £8 & that is for a nursery teacher.
I always round up.

Nursery staff at my dd's nursery charge £7.50ph for evening baby sitting. Lancashire area.

Depends on location and qualifications really.
