to think a cube has to be cube-shaped?

I just opened a new box of Oxo 'cubes'. Inside the lid it says 'new shape cubes'. A cube is a cube, surely? Now the stock 'cubes' are like a 3D x shape, so they are no longer cubes at all.

Are you saying they are cuboids (2 square faces, 4 rectangular)?

They've been that shape for ages.

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 22/02/2012 18:15

They claim that they're the same amount of OXO, but they can't be because they're the same size cubes, but with the little bits missing to make it X shaped. There has to be less OXO or it wouldn't work Hmm The green ones are now rock hard and difficult to crumble too!

aldiwhore · 22/02/2012 18:16

They've been like that for a while, maybe the shop has a low turnover of oxo?

I do think Oxo are probably saving millions of £££ though, they HAVE to be smaller surely?

Can't say I've noticed in the tasting though.

aldiwhore · 22/02/2012 18:17

Ah Pom... maybe they're more tightly packed then? Because its like crumbling concrete.

Obviously I make my own stock from scratch usually Wink

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2012 18:18

yes i noticed this
and we don't get any os
could do 3d noughts and crosses if we did

OriginalJamie · 22/02/2012 18:21

Oh I seeee. A 3D cross shape (didn't read OP properly)

No, they can't call them CUBES !!!!

I like the jelly type Knorr stock "cubes". Much less salty, although expensive
