To want to take ballet classes?

DD 5yo is taking ballet classes, I did ballet to the level that I was en pointe, I lost interest and gave up, but helping DD tonight, with her positions and doing plié has really piqued my interest. AIBU to want to find some adult ballet classes when I am almost 40 and put my hip out when I sit wrong?

That would be really lovely, why not? Don't see what's unreasonable about it!

FWIW, my aunt started ballet again well into her 50s. She loves it.

(She's in Northampton BTW so if you are near there then there is definitely something for you!)

I am in Dorset, but it would be good for my fitness!

Ginger, my mum does ballet and is 62. She took it up again when I did having enjoyed it well into her teens.

YANBU at all! Sounds like you'd get great exercise from it, and it would be something you could practise together!

I've been thinking the same thing since going to see Swan Lake at the Opera a couple of years ago. I haven't found the right class but I did buy the NYC Ballet workout. Have a look at that, you might like it.

That is what I thought, it is a shared interest and I need to get fit.

I think it's a great idea. I did barre au sol for few months and loved it, we had a bit of dance as well- I have to say I found it really hard work at the beginning.
