I'm trying to settle dd (16 weeks) and have sister over with her 3 sd's 12, 13 and 14 years and they are screeching and cackling away. Just shut up!!!? Pleaaaaaasassseee

I completely sympathise. I have the same problem when my sisters and nephews visit. My nephews are only 2 and 3 so not much I can do about them being too noisy as they are too young to control their voices really but surely teenagers should know how to lower their voice?!

Tell them. We'd love to help but for some reason, none of these children appear to be listening to us. So I think you'd be best off trying the direct approach.

It's Helpful to be able to moan on here as I can't physically move away for dd whilst she's latched on and shouting down to be quiet isn't going to help much.

in school they are told about thier own volume control! our headmaster even mimes dialling it down and they DO!

they are shouting because they can! tell them they cant!
